Cleveland Right to Life has updated their mission statement and has made clear their position on marriage.

Thank you Cleveland Right to Life.  We encourage all organizations to update your mission statements, platforms, and policy statements to include support for traditional marriage.

CRTL MISSION STATEMENT

WE believe that all human beings are made in the image of the Creator and must be respected and protected from the moment of conception until natural death. We know to be true that human rights begin when human life begins, as affirmed in the Declaration of Independence.    

So as to foster a culture of life we promote and defend the right to life of all innocent human beings and reject such practices as abortion, euthanasia, infanticide, and same-sex marriage that are contrary to "the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God".  

Justification:

In recognition of the threat to the child's basic human rights imposed by the attempt to redefine the family, CRTL's board of directors have expanded the mission of the organization to include a defense of marriage as a union between a man and a woman that is then open for the procreation of human life.  

Every human life is created by the sexual union of male and female.   Science and religion have consistently affirmed that the child is happiest and best served physically and mentally, in the stable family consisting of their mother and father.

Every child has a right to be nurtured by their mother and their father by the very nature of natural law which provides the best outcomes for the child and for society.

Therefore CRTL knowing these facts to be true from consistent scientific studies and religious doctrine dating back to Aristotle and before, will promote the rights of the child to be nurtured and grow up in the best and most stable environment possible which is in a stable home with a mother and father who are committed to each other and their children through the recognized societal contract of marriage.

This family structure is sacred and consistent throughout the ages, made such by the fact that this is the place in which human life can be properly welcomed and protected from harm and can develop to his/her full authentic human growth.

Cleveland Right to Life will use all means possible including our nationally recognized "Bringing America Back to Life Symposium" to educate the public about our mission

CRTL will consider any political candidate who does not support the right to life of the unborn child and marriage as only between a man and a woman to be unworthy of representing the rights and well-being of all of their constituents.
