From the Office

Are you Leaving OGS?

If your family is moving from the OG school district or if your child/children will not be attending Old Greenwich School for the 2013 - 2014 school year, please let the office know the necessary information, i.e. new school, date leaving, etc., in writing as soon as possible.

Attention Grade 5 Parents

If your grade 5 student will not be attending Eastern Middle School for the 2013 - 2014 school year, please let the Old Greenwich School Office know as soon as possible. Students' elementary records will automatically be sent to Eastern Middle School at the end of this school year, unless we are notified in writing that your child will not be attending. If your child will be attending another school, please stop by the office to sign a permission form to have the student's records released to that school.

Warm Weather is Here
Now that warmer weather is here, please remember to help your children dress appropriately for school. Flip-flops are not allowed in school for safety reasons. If your child happens to wear this type of footwear to school, we will phone you to bring in a suitable and safe pair of shoes. Thank you for your cooperation.
At School

Donate Lego for Indoor Recess
May 13 - 17, Front Hall

Many classrooms could use Lego (or more Lego than they have) for indoor recess. If you or your neighbors have some at home to spare, please bring them in. People and wheels are especially sought after in classes that already have Lego. Please send in small Lego and not Duplo.

Pay it Forward!
Thank you to the OGS community for continuously supporting our "Pay it Forward" program. We have reached 1,200 hands so far. Let's ramp it up to reach 5,000 by the end of May. Remember that the acts of kindness can be at home, at church, at the grocery store ... anywhere kindness is happening.

OGS Largest Fundraiser, Pumpkin Patch, Needs You!
October 19, 2013
If you like putting on events, working towards a deadline, and getting to know other parents, this is your perfect volunteer opportunity. Consider volunteering to be one of next year's Pumpkin Patch Co-Chairs. While learning the ropes of this 40+ year tradition and coordinating the talents of nearly 50 sub-committee chairs, you will be building community spirit and giving back to our great school! This is a two-year commitment - learning the ropes during the first year and assuming a leadership role the second.
Contact: Myrna Lucey, Casey Fulton, Diane Hong (outgoing Chairs) or Lorraine Sweillam, Nominating Chair.
