EDUC 2014 - highlights

Strengthening and unifying the VDF community, this highly successful EDUC 2014 will be the catalyst for new innovation and enterprise in the coming months. Information packed conference covered the very latest VDF developments and application.

EDUC 2014 - conference briefing
With over 110 software professionals from 11 different countries, this year's EDUC was a resounding success; even the sun showed up and stayed with us for the full duration ..!  The blue skies and warm temperatures meant delegates and spouses alike could enjoy all that Bruge had to offer while   delegates learned of the latest plans and developments within Dataflex first-hand.

A very informative and energetic series of presentations from Data Access outlined the scope of the new features that are to be included in the new Dataflex release v18.0 plus changes to other DAE products aimed to create a unified Dataflex development suite. All sessions were information packed and well thought out - addressing the most current and topical aspects of VDF development. An overview of the upcoming DataFlex Version 2014/18.0 contained a few surprises.. Find out more.

Exploring Bruge - Special Activities
Delegates and partners alike had plenty of opportunity to socialise and forge new alliances in a series of excellent social events within the conference package.  On the first evening, conference attendees dined together at a traditional Flemish restaurant.  This was an opportunity to mix with fellow developers and take in the unique Bruge atmosphere.

Jill Pincott, Managing Director at Asckey commented: `The icebreaker meal was lovely and provided an opportunity to meet with old and new VDF contacts in a unique setting. The dedicated partner day was a huge success.  Making our own chocolates at a chocolate workshop in the morning was our first introduction to the joys of Belgian chocolate!

This, followed by lunch at a traditional Belgian restaurant then a horse and carriage tour of Bruges, made it a day I'll never forget.  In the evening everyone gathered together for a canal trip of Bruges - the best way to appreciate this lovely city. This was followed by a well-attended Brewery tour plus a live music session back at the hotel from the Dataflex Band, a real treat - they were brilliant! Such a lovely time
!"

Aside from the value of the technical inspiration from the conference itself, there is real added value in renewing relationships within the Dataflex Community - and also making new friends! View images from the conference. Presentation slides are now available at the conference website.
