 Greetings!

Each week prior to our time of meditation and contemplation we sing a version of the Lord's Prayer. But, do we ever stop to think about the meaning of the prayer or even think about what we are saying. There are many in Unity who would have the churches would like to see Unity dispense with the prayer. It is an old theology that does not reflect our beliefs. Yes, and like all things Unity that is all based in interpretation. In, addition, what translation and version of the prayer are we singing.

I believe rather then cease using the prayer we can instead come to a deeper understanding and interpretation of the prayer's meaning. Emett Fox says the bible is really a textbook of metaphysics, a manual for the growth of the soul. Why should we treat the Lord's Prayer any differently then we treat the rest of scriptures. This week we are going to take a deeper look at the Lord's prayer from a variety of lens and how this ancient prayer can still be relevant in a Unity context.

Rev ray will be providing the lesson,  Colette Delaney will provide the special music and Karen Cox will lead our meditation. Look forward to seeing everyone on Sunday.
