 Greetings!

It is not only important to watch what thoughts you have, because we know our thoughts are creative, but to align the thoughts with your words and actions. Mike Dooley writes "what you think, say and do are your fulcrums for life's magic, the pivot points upon which the universe and life's magic are leveraged." Aligning our thoughts, words, and actions in a very real sense becomes the Unity version of the Holy Trinity. The more we work on aligning the three parts of the Trinity the more we can expect the Universe/God to be amplified in manifesting our dreams and desires.

Last week in my Sunday talk I said there are no idle thoughts. Likewise there are no idle words or actions. As we move along our spiritual path it is our responsibility, and often times our struggle, to remain conscious in way that seems unnatural. But, remaining conscious and awake is the path to self realization. The buzz word that is tossed around so often recently that it simply becomes another word seemingly devoid of its true power and meaning is mindful. But mindful at its core means being awake and conscious in each moment.

I notice so often in my own life how I toss around words casually like they really have no meaning. Thinking on this I realize if they have no meaning why am I bothering to say them. Or, how often I use self-deprecating humor as a defense mechanism. I have always said I use my this form of humor because the remarks hurt less if they come from me and it prevents anyone else from getting under my protective shell. But, from the Universe's point of view a put down has power and meaning. By using myself as some sort of punchline I have created a conflict between what I am saying and how I am acting in the world and preventing the Universe from fully supporting me in my dreams.

This week I will explore in the Sunday lesson how we can learn to act in two ways. One is defensively, learning to become aware of our old thought habits and beliefs and how they manifest in our words and actions. The other is how to go on the offence in creating new habits to empower our lives. Robin nelson will lead the meditation and Melba Harris will provide the special music.
