This year we have three candidates for two Board of Trustee positions and two Board Alternate Positions.
Here are the Bios for the three candidates.
Todd Royer
Todd Royer is 56 years old and works in Louisville as an environmental engineering consultant for URS Corporation. He lives in St. Matthews with his wife Lisa and has two adult children: Kevin, 22, who also lives in Louisville; and Nicole, 24, who lives in Toronto, Canada.
He is a native of Louisville Kentucky although he moved away for college and for the early part of his career. He discovered and joined a Unity church in northern California while living there and joined Unity of Louisville when he moved back to Louisville in 1993. At various times, he has been an adult volunteer with the Unity teens group - Youth of Unity - both in California and here in Louisville.
Todd's hobbies include camping, hiking and cycling. In Louisville, he has been an active volunteer with the Boy Scouts and the American Lung Association. He has also been a board member and president of the alumni association of his college - Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
Todd indicates that he is looking forward to continuing to serve on the board. He thinks his engineering problem solving skills, his compassion, and his alignment with Unity principles will help him be a valuable contributor. Todd has been the treasurer for the last two years and has brought clarity and understanding to our finances.
Chuck Fulner
Chuck Fulner is 65 years old and lives with his wife in Louisville. Chuck has spent 30+ years in health and human service management. Chuck would contribute the skills of strategic planning, budgeting, financial management and communication to the Board.
Chuck is looking to build a stronger commitment to the church and a sense of belonging. Chuck has been involved in the Daily Word ministry reading the Daily Word on fifth Sundays. Chuck is part of the welcome/usher team and an active member of the ongoing spiritual study class facilitated by Gerry Boylan.
Chuck looks forward with an open heart and mind to Board service and is willing to step in where called.
Peggy Chavers
Peggy has been in Unity since 1985 and has been a member at Unity of Louisville since 1991. Peggy is a former sales representative and financial advisor. Peggy has a positive attitude and looks forward to assisting the Board and staff developing the strategic plan and setting achievable goals.
Peggy is an active youth and family volunteer. Peggy is enthusiastic concerning her opportunity to serve on the Board believing Board service is a way to contribute and give back to the community that has given her and her family so much.
