Greetings!
I have many fond memories of special gatherings during the Christmas holidays. Time with family, work place parties, or simply friends getting together to celebrate the season and fellowship. One of my favorite events since I joined Unity was the yearly Youth and Family Christmas pageant. This year I especially excited to see what the youth, volunteers, and staff have created for us. There is a new excitement and passion in the Youth and Family ministry that is infectious. Please join us Sunday for a very special performance celebrating the magic of the season. Please bring a dish to share before the pageant while Dottie and her team get the Sanctuary ready for the performance.
This week we continue the spiritual journey of Advent, the preparation of the birth of the Christ consciousness within each of us. This weeks theme is Peace. Peace is not found or conditional on external events or conditions but rather is a state of mind and a way of being no matter the conditions. In the midst of the swirling storms of life Peace is the eye of the storm. Peace is the ability to maintain your center, calm, and serenity in the midst of the storm. Rev Ray will provide the lesson, Ginny First will facilitate the meditation and Robbie Bartlett will provide the special music. Let us affirm "The Peace of God Lives In Me" and so it is. See you Sunday.
P.S. Don't forget those less fortunate this Christmas and pick up a winter coat to be distributed to the homeless.
