The root of "self" is awareness. The very first lesson reminded us that we are not our thoughts we are aware of our thoughts. I remember back to the first book study we did my first fall, Robert Brumet's, Living Originally. His first lesson was radical self awareness. Without self-awareness transformation is, if not impossible, highly unlikely. We cling to our safety and comfort but there is an eternal yearning to be and experience more of my "true self."
Plan to attend this week as Gerry Boylan shares his thoughts on "my expansive self" and the practice of nonresistance and non-attachment. Gerry will be leading the meditation and the special music will be provided by the Troubadours of Divine Bliss.
For the purposes of complete transparency the decision was made this week to release our business administrator Ila from her position with the church. Moving forward Sharon will be stepping in to help us out with our bookkeeping and financial duties and Tobby Spaulding will perform all the administrative functions.
Funny one of the first lessons was to embrace change and not to resist it. That in the process of stepping outside our comfort zone there may be feelings and anxiety but to be assured all is well. This is a time of change as Rev Val and myself will begin to take on new responsibilities and functions. Thank you God that patience is a virtue because I think there is going to be ample opportunity to practice the skill.

 The Quest is a 52 week course of self discovery. Whether you are new to the spiritual journey or a long time traveler the Quest will guide you into a deeper understanding of Unity principles and spiritual truths. This class is a drop in class. Join us Sundays at 9:45 and make connections and explore in a open and safe environment your own and others spiritual understanding. The class will be facilitated by a variety of Unity teachers and spiritual leaders. Books are available for purchase.
