Greetings!
A few months back in alignment with my goal of life long learning and seeking ways to make myself a better leader and manager I enrolled in an MBA in non-profit management. My goal is to take the information, skills, and tools and apply them, as they fit, to the churches administration. My current course is on spiritual leadership of a non-profit business organization. Interesting title isn't it.
This weeks assignment was to focus on one aspect of our current context and describe what leadership characteristics would be most useful given the current conditions. I choose for my post to talk about the cultural shift work we have undertaken as a community. I identified perseverance, trust and integrity, and responsibility and accountability, and self awareness and self management as essential traits. Rev Val added openness and non-judgment which I agree are essential as well.
A question I have and would interested to hear what you say is what leadership traits would you see as most essential as we continue to move forward in our cultural shift? How do you think we are doing with the ones we have identified? I look forward to your comments.
This week we continue our series on the Metaphysics of Broadway. This weeks lesson will focus on a song from the musical Rent; Season of Love. Rev Ray is back from his vacation and will deliver the message, Ginny First will lead the meditation and Gloria Berry will provide the special music. I listened to last weeks service via the Unity of Louisville website and I have to say I am sorry I missed the experience. Everything merged together beautifully. Thank you Rev Val, Deb, Phil, Judy, and Gwen for a great job. If you missed church Sunday I would encourage you to take the time and log on and listen.
