9 am Unity Prayer Service
 11:00 am Sunday Celebration Service

Recently the congregation voted to add three local community agencies to the organizations we tithe. The idea is to connect with the wider community and to be a active agent for transformation in the world and beyond the walls of the church. One of the organizations we selected was Wayside Christian Mission. 432 E. Jefferson St., Tuesday 6 pm. We are meeting at 5pm at Unity to carpool.

Part of our commitment in selecting these local agencies is to do more then send money. Don't get me wrong sending money is good. All nonprofits need to create the resources necessary to meet their mission and vision. This can be, at times, a struggle. But, we believe it is important to step into a deeper commitment and tithe not only our treasure but our time and talent as well. It is through the activity of service as a spiritual practice that we deepen our relationship with Spirit.

To this end a committed group of individuals have begun to offer activities for the children at the Wayside shelter on Tuesday evening. This is a energetic and boisterous group of children looking for opportunities to interact and to engage in healthy
ways. Sue Riecker said yes to taking the lead and Gwen Moser, our sacred service coordinator, is assisting in recruiting more volunteers. This is an opportunity to make a difference in the life of a child. Commitment can be a little as one day a month or you may choose to volunteer each week. Our commitment helps us fully live into our core values of empowerment and inclusion and aligns with our mission to transform ourselves and the through love. Prayer fully consider this opportunity.

This Sunday we continue our series on the parables of Jesus with the parable of the Laborers in the Vinyard (Mt 20: 1-16). Gerry Boylan will be providing our lesson, John Gage will be blessing us with the special music, and Rev Val will lead the meditation. Hope to see you.

Fall Book Study
The Untethered Soul
Michael Singer

The Untethered Soul is a new York Times bestseller and aligns with Unity principles and has been endorsed by Deepak Chopra, Jean Houston, and Yogi Amrit Desai. The book is about "freeing ourselves from the limitations and soaring beyond our self imposed boundaries." It is an exploration of inner space. Joel Goldsmith reminds us that we live at the juncture between two worlds-inner and outer-and that by exploring the inner we transform the outer-ourselves and our relationships with others.

       Keys to the Kingdom

  Wednesday Sept. 23rd-Nov. 3rd 7:00-9:00 PM
Chapel with Rev. Ray Nelson
Keys to the Kingdom is designed to help your students identify and change their limited beliefs about abundance, happiness, and success. This is not a course about simply getting more money or material things. It is actually a guide to developing a higher level of spiritual awareness.  The program leads to an understanding of the spiritual foundation of true abundance and creating a life in greater harmony with spiritual law and to strengthen your spiritual community by helping your students see the relationship between their spiritual growth and their participation in their spiritual community.
