9 am Unity Prayer Service
 11:00 am Sunday Celebration Service

Greetings!

One of the first things I noticed about the Unity of Louisville community is the degree of care and compassion the congregation has for each other. The membership truly embodies the value of compassion. As I write this I am coming to the realization that the joys and concern section of this email may be misunderstood and that maybe it needs to be re-worked as it does not seem to align very well with the value of compassion.

I am seldom accused of being an absolutist in my thinking and my actions and yet I think the way we designed, implemented and communicated the joys and concerns was misunderstood and poorly thought out. I can honestly say, at least from my part, I always had the best intentions. Confidentiality is so very important to a minister and I allowed that to be over emphasized to the degree that some may have felt forgotten or not acknowledged for the struggles they are having and I failed to provide the public compassion that is such a hallmark of this congregation. For that I am truly sorry and ask your forgiveness.

Starting today you will see a change in the language of the joys and concerns. Just let us know if you would like to be included. Simple and clean but someone does have to tell us. I will, going forward, try to incorporate the same information in our prayers during worship. If you do not want your condition or situation acknowledged and publicized you just need to let us know. We are and inclusive and compassionate community and I want to acknowledge that compassion publicly in the best way possible.

This week we start a new series focusing on the parables of the master teacher Jesus. Appropriately, I will kick off the series with the parable of the unforgiving servant. Gwen Moser, our director of sacred service and LUT, will be leading the meditation and the special music will be provided by Tyrone Cotton. Special note please mark your calendar for September 10 the Unity World Day of Prayer. This year we celebrate 125 of Silent Unity with a special worship service and a day filled with prayer.

  Wednesday Sept. 23rd-Nov. 3rd 7:00-9:00 PM
Chapel with Rev. Ray Nelson
Keys to the Kingdom is designed to help your students identify and change their limited beliefs about abundance, happiness, and success. This is not a course about simply getting more money or material things. It is actually a guide to developing a higher level of spiritual awareness.  The program leads to an understanding of the spiritual foundation of true abundance and creating a life in greater harmony with spiritual law and to strengthen your spiritual community by helping your students see the relationship between their spiritual growth and their participation in their spiritual community.
