9 am Unity Prayer Service
 11:00 am Sunday Celebration Service

Greetings!

Sunday we continue our series vision/mission/core values and explore the core value of compassion. Our Core values team defined compassion as "we notice, feel, and genuinely respond to the suffering needs of others. Compassion alters the felt connection between individuals and groups. Compassion makes the world more resilient and peaceful." From my perspective that is a definition that I continue to strive to live in and up to.

Closely linked to compassion is empathy. Empathy allows us to let go of our judgments and see through the eyes of another. Having empathy opens me up to live with an compassionate heart. A empathetic and compassion heart allows me to see beyond the conditions and circumstances to a deeper truth; the Divinity of the other seeking avenues of expression. Instead of feeling sorry or bad for a person I listen and open myself to the possibilities that are seeking to present themselves.

Please join us Sunday as we continue to explore the foundation of our vision/mission; our Core Values. Rev Ray will be the speaker, Lisa Wilbanks will facilitate our meditation and Kri and Hettie will provide our special music.

Wayside Christian Mission

Are you ready to share a fun time out in the community?

Wayside Christian Mission has asked Unity of Louisville to host a Kids Activity Fun Night on Tuesdays from 6:00 to 7:00 pm at 432 E. Jefferson Street, Louisville, KY 40202

They have a new gymnasium at the emergency shelter and anywhere from 20 to 40 children ages from birth to 18 years of age. The vision is to provide an evening of fun, safe, activities so the children can let loose of built up energy.

  • The babies and toddlers want your love and are excited to see or chase bubbles or roll around oatmeal cans, filled with a piece of paper, and a sponge and a little paint to create a work of art.
  • The elementary age children want to be challenged with obstacle courses or cooperative games.
  • The teens, well who knows for sure, but cooperative games or charades are usually a winner.
  • Parents may want to time to be still without the care of the children for moment or take a rest in a peace filled meditation, or simply spend time coloring.

If you are interested in sharing your love with a child or teen, want to help coordinate activities, or any other idea, please sign up in the social room or contact Gwen Moser, L.U.T./ Sacred Service Coordinator at gwenm@unityoflouisville.org

       Keys to the Kingdom

  Wednesday Sept. 23rd-Nov. 3rd 7:00-9:00 PM
Chapel with Rev. Ray Nelson
Keys to the Kingdom is designed to help your students identify and change their limited beliefs about abundance, happiness, and success. This is not a course about simply getting more money or material things. It is actually a guide to developing a higher level of spiritual awareness.  The program leads to an understanding of the spiritual foundation of true abundance and creating a life in greater harmony with spiritual law and to strengthen your spiritual community by helping your students see the relationship between their spiritual growth and their participation in their spiritual community.
