There are two major events happening at Unity of Louisville that I would like to take the time to highlight this week. The first is our annual meeting on March 15th. Plan to attend as we will vote for two new members for the Board of Trustees, hear an update from our treasurer on the church finances, hear a yearend report from the ministers, and begin the discussion on issues pertaining to the building maintenance. There is a lot happening at Unity of Louisville. We have consciously undertaken a review and reset of our identity and your presence and input are vital to our continued success.
The second event is the third workshop facilitated by Rev. Judy Grimes on Saturday March 21st from 9 am to 3 pm (lunch will be provided). Together we will continue the process of creating an intentional spiritual community that knows who we are, what we believe, and how we serve each other and our community. Part of the workshop will be a collective discovery of our core values and from these values we will create a new vision/mission statement to guide us in the coming years. The vision/mission will be presented during the Sunday March 22nd service and everyone will be given an opportunity to comment and give input before the final statement is crafted.
It is from our vision and mission that our ministries and staff will make choices on how we allocate our time, talent, and treasure. One of my seminary professors used to say "many things are good and valuable not all things are mine to do." Please plan to attend and lend your voice as we consciously and intentionally create the pathway to the future of Unity of Louisville.
Meeting notes from the first two workshops are available in the social room. In addition, the minutes of the possibilities team are available as well. The staff, Board, and members of the possibilities team are all, available to hear your comments, questions, or concerns.
This Sunday our message will be given by our latest LUT Gwen Moser, a recent transplant from Unity East, the meditation is by Lisa Wilbanks, and our special music is Dana Bryant Wilson. Hope to see you Sunday.
