9 am Healing & Prayer Service
 11:00 am Sunday Celebration Service

Greetings!

Last Saturday we had 32 congregants participate in a five hour workshop on culture shifting and leadership wisdom. The facilitator, Judy Grimes, at one point remarked that she originally had only planned on the Board and key leaders in the training. The 32 present, almost with one voice, said that is what showed up. To say I was overjoyed would be an understatement. In addition to the workshop nine of the participants have signed on to be part of a leadership team. They will meet during the month to help us, the board, staff, and congregation get clear on where we are headed and what are the next steps we need to take to get there. The possibilities are endless.

You may ask what is it we are attempting to create. To quote congregational consultants Krug and Oakley "we are seeking to create is a community of leaders who not only have a collective vision but a community of leaders ready to take ownership of the vision, to make it their own thus developing the commitment to create structures and take action to carry the vision forward to completion." I believe we are all leaders.

On February 21st from 9:00 am-3:00 pm we will continue the process of conscious cultural creation with a workshop called Mining the Past, Discovering the New. During the workshop we will explore our past, discover the underlying myths and rituals that connect us, identify our heroes and discover any leftover hurt or pain that needs to be acknowledged and released. The day will help create the foundation for the March 21st session discovering our values, vision, and mission.

This is an exciting time. We have an opportunity to create consciously and with clear intention who we are, where we are going, and how are we going to get there. We collectively have the opportunity to consciously create the culture of leadership and action to guide us to the next steps on our spiritual journey.

Sunday Rev Ray will be speaking, Tyrone Cotton will provide the special music, and the mediation will be provided by Ginny First. Hope to see you.
