9 am Healing & Prayer Service 11:00 am Sunday Celebration Service
Greetings!
I am at the Unity Worldwide Ministries conference this week. Fun to see old class mates and a chance to connect. The conference had some controversial proposals to the by-laws and because of the controversial nature of the proposals this was the most people attending the conference in years. It was fun seeing almost 500 Unity people gathered to debate the issues while staying in principle of oneness and Unity. Funny we say Unity but often times our humanity gets in the way and like all people we have hurt feelings, judgments, and assumptions about ourselves and others. But, in the end I believe the conference did a good job of balancing the human and the spiritual natures of our own experiences and stayed in principle.
The conference in the end chose to make no changes. Choosing to make no changes has the potential, if we each do not choose to act and behave in a different manner to continue to get the same results. I am looking at how this mirrors my own life and decision making. Sometimes change can seen frightening and difficult and it is so much easier to just go along as I always have. But, and it is a big but, if I want different results I do have to do and think differently. Maybe the first option is not the right course, and I do trust Spirits guidance, but the Divine discontent is pointing me in the direction of making a change. It is at these times I am called to take the time to make a conscious decision to set a clear intention and act in accordance with principle.
This potential controversy has given me pause to see how I behave and how I might learn to think and take different actions without the need for all the stress and anxiety I tend to cause myself. If, I stay open and receptive to the movement of God and God's calling I trust I will be guided. My first response often comes from my small self, my ego, but the Divine discontent that lies at the heart of the process is telling me that something needs to be different and that something is almost always me.
