more and more events are filling our calendar. We are very happy and a bit overwhelmed because doing theater is not easy and making theater from another culture (and sometime in another language) is very challenging in New York.
As you can see, we have started a INDIEGOGO campaign for the upcoming return of Tosca and the two downstairs. Some of you saw the show in 2010, some of you don't. We hope to have you all at the Dicapo Opera... it's a 200 seats theater and we are kind of scary... we count on you, KIT friends!
I count on you to help the production running smoothly. This is why I humbly ask you to participate to the crowd-funding campaign dedicated to raise some additional, very necessary, funds for the show. How?
I thank you so much in advance for all the help and support you can give to KIT. I am so proud of everything that is happening. We are keeping Italian culture alive in the United States and even if it's difficult, it is a great fatigue!
"Tosca e le altre due" by Franca Valeri shares the 19th century setting and events of the opera, but refracts them through two memorable women characters who share them from the outside. The torture's screams and scuffles are overheard from upstairs by the wife of the torturer and the female doorkeeper of Palazzo Farnese in Rome, where the interrogation is taking place. The play is a wry and humorous character study of these two women, outsiders, who are accidentally close to the passions and politics of the story.
Presented by Kairos Italy Theater and Dicapo Opera
in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute in NY.
In Italian with English Supertitles by the Prescott Studio, Italy.
IN SCENA! IS BACK AND THE SUBMISSIONS ARE NOW OPEN!

We have many news...
The inaugural edition of the Premio Mario Fratti.
After having celebrated Mario Fratti for his great work as playwright and as the Ambassador of Italian Theater in the US, we are introducing the first Mario Fratti Award for Italian playwrights. Read the rules and apply or just spread the word!
KIT's mission is to create a cultural exchange program between Italy, the US and the international community, to unveil artistic and creative sides of these two countries to the world.
In the States, Kairos Italy Theater is dedicated to spreading the Italian Culture and to creating an Italian Cultural Network in order to support and further increase the knowledge of Italy in the States.
In 2013 KIT has created the YOUNGKIT, the young division of KIT, where a group of young artists work together on traditional and contemporary Italian plays, acted in English and in Italian.
KIT has also founded TEATRO ITALIANO NETWORK, the theater consulting by KIT, to help theater company to make their show in New York.
