A REFLECTION FROM PASTOR DANNY

One of the gospel hymns I was taught growing up was "This World is Not My Home." Here are a few of the lyrics:

"This world is not my home; I'm just a passin' through...

My treasures are laid up somewhere beyond the blue.

The angels beckon me from heaven's open door;

And I can't feel at home in this world anymore.

Oh Lord, you know I have no friend like you;

If heaven's not my home, then Lord what will I do?"

I think the message probably intended by this song is one of hope. After all, the world is a complicated place to say the least; and if the news is any indication, sometimes the world seems to be spinning wildly out of control and headed for certain destruction. In fact, probably most of us at one time or another in our lives have felt like the words to that country song, "Make the World Go Away."
