FROM THE PASTOR'S LAPTOP | |
Wow! We are in our twelfth month of our interim journey together! We have shared some profound moments of spiritual awakenings together and I believe the best is yet to come! I'm seeking over the remainder of my time with you to experience more of God's presence in and through each one of us. So come Holy Spirit! I'm ready to experience more of God's presence... now!

NEWS from the PASTORAL SEARCH COMMITTEE
|
|
Greetings!
Thank you to all who were able to attend the meeting on May 5. It gave us a great opportunity to talk about what we have been doing - and what we have left to do. As you know, we are now in a waiting mode. We have put forth our information and now we must wait for candidates to respond. So - we ask that you join us in prayer as we let Spirit guide in our process.
We offer this simple prayer for this portion of our journey:
Dear God-
Thank you for MCC NOVA.
Help our church family and friends stay close to you in our search for a new settled pastor.
Give the PSC wisdom and patience in their journey.
Bless Rev. Onetta as she leads us through our time of transition.
Bless our next pastor as they prepare to join us - and Bless their community as they prepare for transition.
Amen
Marilyn Villanueva

WHAT'S HAPPENING AT MCC NOVA!

A NOTE FROM THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Thanks to everyone who stayed after church last Sunday for a mini-State of MCC NOVA meeting facilitated by the Board of Directors and the Pastoral Search Committee. PSC Chair Jeanne Bailey gave an excellent status report on the progress of our search for our next senior pastor and the Board provided an update on the extension of Rev. Onetta's contract to August 31 and on the financial implication of both.
Many of you may be aware that our financial giving has been sub-par for the first quarter of the year and projections at the rate we are going show a serious deficit as we enter the 3rd quarter--just when we expect to call a new pastor. We had a great discussion at the meeting about this issue and some good ideas were offered. However, in the end, it falls to us, individually and as community. We are so grateful for the gifts each of you already contributes to the life of our church. But it critically important that everyone who loves and supports this community and who is financially-able, do their part. A number of people have already made a commitment to increase their giving--by amounts known only to themselves and God. Won't you accept this challenge to help keep MCC NOVA financially sound at this critical time in our history? Thank you for your continued generosity.
