2013 MCC EASTER OFFERING CAMPAIGN | |
This Easter, MCC NOVA will join hands with MCC churches around the world in support of the Global Justice Institute through the 2013 MCC Easter Offering Campaign for Global Justice.
The Global Justice Institute, a joint project of MCC and The Fellowship of Affirming Ministries (TFAM), is already significantly impacting our world. Thanks to your generous support, the Institute has established a network of reliable human rights partners, made significant strides in establishing a credible global reputation, strengthened our connections at the United Nations, in the U.S. White House, and with indigenous justice groups in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe, and established sustainable micro-investment projects that are changing attitudes and cultures.
MCC NOVA will collect a second offering on Easter Sunday to support the Global Justice Institute. Won't you prayerfully consider a gift to this important part of our movement? |

AND THE SURVEY SAYS...
The MCC NOVA PSC Survey #1 has been closed and the results are in. Thank you to the 83 (yes, you read that right) people who took the time to complete the survey. WOOHOO!! This is a fabulous first step in our process to identify who we are as the congregation of MCC NOVA. The detailed survey results are available online for your review (link here). We will also post a copy on the bulletin board by the suggestion box.
Here are some highlights:
We received responses from first-time and occasional attendees, as well as regular attendees.
About 20% of respondents have attended MCC NOVA less than 2 years and over 50% have attended 6 to 20+ years. Previous church affiliations: First place - Methodists; Tied for second place - Catholics and Non-denominational; Tied for third place - Baptist and MCC.
This is just a first quick look - the PSC has put on their analytical caps and are busy compiling the data. We will share more details as they are developed.
Thanks again for your participation! Be on the look-out for Survey #2 - it is not quite ready but we hope to have it out soon!

IT'S ALMOST HERE!
BASKET AUCTION FUNDRAISER: BIDS & BITES Saturday, March 16, 2013, 7:00 pm
Join us on Saturday, March 16 at 7:00 pm for our Basket Auction Fundraiser! Nibble goodies and shop a great selection of themed gift baskets and services and place your bid in our live and silent auctions. This is a great opportunity to shop for yourself or for someone special!
Please donate one or more themed gift baskets for the cause. Our goal is to offer 50 baskets and raise at least $2,000 for MCC NOVA. Or perhaps you can offer a service (photography, legal services, lessons, etc.) Know someone with a restaurant or B&B who would donate a meal or a weekend stay? That makes a popular auction item! Baskets should be delivered to the church by March 10. Please include a list of contents for the auction booklet and auctioneer.
You are also invited to bring a dessert to share or to offer for sale. So dig out those favorite recipes and get ready to bake!
Finally, if you would like to help out in other ways--setup or clean up, even auctioneer, please contact our event coordinators:
Jane Bennett (girlybob@aol.com)
Cathryn Krebs (cathkrebs@cox.net).
Please let us know if you plan to attend! To RSVP, click here.Thank you and we look forward to seeing you on Saturday, March 16 at 7:00 pm. Bring a friend! All are welcome.
