90 (+?) POINTS - Stephen Tanzer
"Deep ruby. Cherry-cola, dark berries, violet and spices on the nose, with a subtle herbal quality and a touch of cracked pepper. Dense but energetic, offering powerful black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors that are firmed by dusty minerals. Tannins build on the finish, which is long, sappy and well-focused. A few years of bottle age should be beneficial to this wine." - July/Aug 2011

THE STORY:
Patricia Green Cellars is located in the Ribbon Ridge District of Yamhill County on a 52 acre estate that was purchased in 2000 by Patty Green and Jim Anderson. The winery is noted for producing a tremendously broad selection of Pinot Noirs from far flung vineyards representing some of the finest sites in the Ribbon Ridge, Dundee Hills, Chehalem Mountains, and the Yamhill-Carlton growing regions.
Patty Green has been involved in Oregon winemaking since the late 1980's, and established a high reputation as the founding winemaker at boutique pinot noir specialist Torii Mor. The goal of Patricia Green Cellars is to produce pinot noirs that express the specific characteristics of the terroirs on which they are grown. In order to produce the highest quality of fruit, farming practices are adapted to the needs of every single vine: adjustments are made according to variations in elevation, exposure, drainage, microclimate and soil. All vineyards are dry farmed. Winemaking practices are traditional and minimal, in keeping with the belief that great wines are grown not made. Patricia Green's pinots are fragrant and exceptionally elegant, combining purity of flavor, classic silky pinot noir texture and fresh acidity.
