2010 White Burgundy - a vintage not to miss!
"Burgundy lovers should snap up the white 2010 vintage...Overall, it is a vintage that will reward cellaring, the top crus with the potential to last 20 years or more, and the best village wines with at least eight years' life ahead of them."
- Decanter Magazine (November 2011)

92 POINTS - Burghound "Here too there is a mild touch of reduction that does not materially detract from the very ripe pear, white peach and apricot aromas. There is impressive opulence to the plush, round and sappy flavors that enjoy excellent mid-palate concentration that end in a textured, intense and well-balanced finish that delivers strikingly good length. I also like the lovely complexity and overall, this is a relatively refined Referts." -Issue #47 June 1, 2012

"Outstanding"
"Very mild reduction reduces slightly the expressiveness of the white flower, lemon rind and wet stone suffused nose. There is wonderful transparency to the cool, rich and palate coating flavors that conclude in a mineral-inflected, dry, clean and gorgeously intense finish that combines both outstanding length with superb complexity. This is the finest example that I have ever seen and is well worth your consideration." - Issue #47 June 1, 2012 |

Bernard Mollard
|
THE STORY
The extended Morey family is one of the most well-known in the Côte de Beaune and great wine courses through its veins. Bernard Mollard, Marc Morey's son in-law, is no exception. A man with a big personality, a twinkle in his eye and clearly no shortage of talent, he has once again produced a lovely range of generous, full and flavoursome wines.
The old cellar of Domaine Marc Morey lies under a magnificent home, which was a former coaching inn and the family home for 100 years. While Marc Morey has been producing top-quality wines there for many years and has always been amongst the top grower-winemakers in the village, Bernard Mollard's wines have seen a marked increase in quality and renown since the mid-nineties.
The Morey family is one of those rare Burgundian families that work together and share vineyards and winemaking efforts. The winemaking is traditional, using wild yeasts. The oak treatment is about 25% new with lees aging and battonage. The 2010s from Domaine Marc Morey have the structure of classic white burgundy, rich and well balanced. They are capable of very considerable age.
