For most people, there's a point in their lives between adolescence and early adulthood when knowledge, experience, and perspective intersect to bring about a new understanding of life and their place in the world, their coming of age. The holidays are a time when you might notice such changes in the people you don't see very often.
In my own life I have experienced many comings of age, I suspect you have too. Marriage, children, job changes - and aging - have all led to changes in the way I see myself, my responsibilities, the world and my purpose in it. I also see these comings of age in families, businesses, communities, and countries. It's a natural evolutionary process that can't be stopped, merely hindered.
So, as you look back on the year, appreciate how you have come to be here and embrace your future. The possibilities are endless.
