Greetings!

In the church, when two people get married, they make vows "until we are parted by death". But we are broken people, and that sometimes leads to broken marriages. As a community of faith, we will fight to strengthen relationships, but we will show grace and love to people whose marriages end in divorce. We proclaim a radical message that through the cross everyone gets a new start.

-Father Michael
5 Things you Need to Know
October 11 is Undie Sunday at St. Peter's!  We are collecting underwear, socks and diapers (new and in children's sizes) for Holy Family School and Burks Elementary.  Such a simple gift, but such a comfort to a child.

3. Save Us, O Lord, Waking, Guard Us Sleeping:
Finding meaning and renewal in the traditional rites of the church
October 18, 10:10 am in Classroom 3 Director of Music Glenn Stroh will lead a discussion on the Canonical Hours, which we inherited from monastic life and their earliest beginnings in the ancient Jewish church, and still play an important part in the life of today's Episcopal parishes. These services have been a part of Christian prayer and praise throughout the centuries and inspired composers to create an abundance of musical offerings to the glory of God. Come learn more about our faith tradition as we explore the nature of the liturgy as well as the history, context, and richness of services of Mattins (Morning Prayer), Evensong (Evening Prayer), and Compline.

Supplies for Dallas Homeless Community
St. Peter's gladly supports The Gathering - a worship service of our diocese that reaches out to the homeless people of Dallas. Twice a year, we provide a lunchtime meal that is tailored to the needs of those who attend this service. Our next service date is Oct. 18, and we would like to take a collection of items that will specifically meet their needs. So, during the month of September, we will be collecting these items to help those who attend The Gathering: athletic socks, individually wrapped rolls of toilet paper, rain poncho, space blanket, multivitamins, nail clippers, headlamps, foot powder, 30 ct. box of bandaids. Please place your donations in the donation box (located by the door from the Narthex into the Parish Hall). St. Peter's Youth (SPY) will be filling backpacks of donated items. For more information, contact Jamie St.Clair at
