ATDF youth programs, for children and teens, teach students about America's own indigenous art form - Tap. Our distinguished faculty shares their knowledge of the artistry and history of tap with each student in a fun, safe and supportive environment.

Rockin' in Rhythm

 

February 14 - 15, 2015

 

The Rockin' in Rhythm Teen Tap Intensive brings together dynamic and diverse youth ensembles from across the country to perform their best works on a New York City stage, and then hit & swing on our American Tap Dance Center floors to learn new rhythms and moves with their contemporaries in master classes. Our goal is to unite, share and inspire through a weekend of rockin' rhythms & music for everyone.

Using brilliant film clips, previously unreleased audio recordings, personal memorabilia, and stories he shared with her over their decade together, Patricia Kelly guides us on an unforgettable journey into the life of one of our most beloved stars and the man who changed the look of dance on film.

Come see dancers ages 5 - 18 tap up a storm with a live jazz quartet and vocalists. This evening performance showcases the ATDF's Youth Program highlighting budding young rhythm makers and advanced teens from the dynamic Tap City Youth Ensemble.
