A Note from the Executive Director

Dear friends,

We hope this belated November issue of the Tap Times Newsletter finds you well, warm and recovered from a very crazy week (at least for those of us on the East coast).

Boy are we lucky that the American Tap Dance Center had no real significant damage, and we are now back in business and also counting our blessings. If you are still without power, our hearts are with you and we hope that you too can recover soon, and we look forward to seeing you in class or at our next event.

Meanwhile, the show must go on! So, as we continue to grow and maintain our youth and adult education programs, I'd like to point out that we have numerous new events and concerts coming up and planned for 2013 that are simply "must see" productions. Join us for "Rockin' in Rhythm" which features top tap dancing youth ensembles from across the country on February 16, "Rhythm is Our Business," directed by our very own Derick K. Grant, March 19-21 and ATDF Artists in Residence performing new work in "Rhythm in Motion" March 22-24. Stay tuned for detailed information and thanks again for your ongoing support and participation.

Be well,

Tony Waag

Artistic/Executive Director

Annual Appeal

What we accomplish with our small devoted staff, faculty, board and a growing community of dedicated students, parents, supporters and audience is stunning. As we continue to grow our youth and adult education programs, we have even more planned for this season by presenting a number of premiere concert performances.

Thank you in advance for contributing at the highest level you can, so that we can continue to spread the many joys and benefits of our American musical dance form together!

Packed with hits from some of the greatest jazz composers of the time-including Harold Arlen, Jimmy McHugh and Dorothy Fields, and Ellington himself-this production re-imagines a Cotton Club floor show right here on the City Center stage.
