Note from ATDF Artistic Director, Tony Waag

Hello everyone, The last couple of years around here have been just amazing and all of it is thanks to a growing army of devoted friends, families, staff, board members, volunteers and supporters. I've been reflecting this summer on what we've been doing here at the American Tap Dance Foundation, and I find myself realizing that SO much has been going on that we haven't really had a chance to acknowledge many of our recent accomplishments. After moving into our new home, the American Tap Dance Center, hundreds of classes and events that have occurred now just seem like a blur. Special Master Classes, Intensives, Film Presentations, Student Showcases, Concert Performances, School Shows and special appearances by both the Tap City Youth Ensemble and the newly formed Tap City Junior Ensemble, not to mention Tap City, the New York City Tap Festival with its week-long Residencies, the crazy and fun Copasetic Boat Ride, the Awards, and Tap It Out! Wow! We've been VERY busy, and VERY successful at providing our students with well-planned educational programs that continue to inspire and encourage dancers to strut their stuff with confidence and joy. We also have the best of the best tap dance professionals involved in our programming and we provide them with work and studio space to create and rehearse. And, along the way, we've presented numerous productions and events that continue to increase general awareness as we celebrate this amazing American art form we call TAP DANCE.

So I'm asking everyone now, today, to just stop for a moment and take a look at both our YouTube page and our photo gallery where I've been busy updating for EVERYONE'S enjoyment and reflection. Let's not forget what has happened here. Our community has come together and shared some rather remarkable events and everyone has obviously had a great time together. The proof is in these amazing faces and in the energy that emanates from all the participants in these beautiful photos and videos.
