Irish CoffeeEnjoy a traditional Irish Whiskey
before during or after your meal whether it's splashed on the rocks, in a cocktail or added to a steaming cup of Irish Coffee!

What distinguishes Irish Whiskey from the others?

  • Triple distilled for purity producing a smooth, light quality
  • Maintains the flavor of barley as the Irish typically abstain from using peat in the production
  • Aged a minimum of three years, often many more, in previously used barrels for sherry or bourbon
  • Producers have remained small and produce relatively small amounts despite ownership by large international companies; resulting in a focused approach to distillation and ensuring the preservation of traditional methods of production.

Here's a list of Irish Whiskeys with tasting notes for your tasting pleasure;

Get your Irish On!

Irish beer bottlesThe most famous brew produced in Ireland is probably Guinness Draught. Originally produced as a 'Porter', in the early 18th century, Guinness was developed into a 'Stout' which describes the brew's color and body. The Guinness we enjoy today, evolved as a result of a decision by the company in the early 1970's to make the brew more 'drinkable, by reducing the heaviness of the brew.

Here is a list of Irish brews with tasting notes. Why not pick up an assortment for your own beer tasting for St. Patrick's Day, keeping in mind the four important characteristics of beer; appearance, swirl, aroma and of course, taste!

Produced by Ireland's oldest operating brewery, since 1710.

This authentic Irish Ale is lightly sweet and butterscotch on the nose,

medium-bodied, and gently fruity, with a drying note of bitterness

on the finish.

It might look intimidating, but this famed stout is fairly light in body, dry, and roasty. It finishes with a hint of burnt toast. Guinness, established at St. James Gate, Dublin, Ireland is known for its porter style beer which derives it's unique characteristics from roasted, unfermented barley.

George Killian's Irish Red

Actually an American beer brewed in the Irish tradition by Coors Brewing Co. Based on a recipe created by Lett's Brewery in Enniscorthy, Ireland, the beer
is named after George Killian Lett, the great-grandson of George Henry Lett, who founded the brewery in 1864., Killian's has a malt accent that
distinguishes it from its paler kin, but still drinks light and refreshing.
Deep amber color with a ruby red hue.

Sam Adams Irish Red Ale

Samuel Adams Irish Red Ale

Pale and caramel malts give Sam Adams Irish Red its rich, deep red color
and distinctive caramel flavor.  The sweetness of the malt is pleasantly balanced by an earthy character from the East Kent Goldings hops.
