Get Ready to Celebrate!
It seems like just yesterday I was eager to attend my JA Company meetings on Thursday night, I'll admit it didn't hurt that a certain female friend of mine often needed a ride (my attendance was perfect on those weeks)!

Looking back, we were not only having a good time but also experiencing an eye-opening glimpse into the real world that made a significant impact on my life. I'm proud to say that in North Central Ohio today Junior Achievement continues to bring the same high-impact JA experience to students every year, just like we did back then.

I never grow tired of hearing from people in our communities who were in Junior Achievement's original program, the JA Company Program. Much has changed, and locally JA has expanded our reach to more than fifteen times the number of students we reached per year back then. Last school year we involved our 500,000th student in JA, and during our 2013-14 program year Junior Achievement of North Central Ohio will celebrate our 50th anniversary!

We are actively seeking out JA Alumni and friends to join in planning the celebration or simply to let us know where you are and share your memories. Did you participate in a JA Company, classroom or one of the student conferences? Did you volunteer in a JA classroom or as a JA Company advisor? Did your company or classroom volunteer have an impact on you? Still have your JA Company product?

WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU! Call me at 330-434-1875 ext.18 or visit us at www.jaofnco.ja.org for more ways to share your JA experience.

We can't wait to hear your story!

JA Company Program Thrives at Cuyahoga Falls High School
Picture this, you're a junior or senior in high school and you want everything about prom to be perfect from your hair style to what limo service you use. But how are you going to make it all happen? JA Company Program students at Cuyahoga Falls High School saw their peers asking this question and created the One Stop Prom Shop trade show event! In its second year the One Stop Prom Shop trade show will provide a showcase of local prom vendors for students from Cuyahoga Falls and the surrounding areas on March 3rd at the Cuyahoga Falls Natatorium, click HERE for more info.

Guided by the JA Company Program the students running the One Stop Prom Shop are experiencing first-hand the ins and outs of running their own enterprise from structuring a company to liquidation. Throughout the JA Company Program students are encouraged to consider what personal entrepreneurial pursuits they may want to undertake in the future and the choices they can make now to see those dreams become reality!
