"The seasons and all their changes are in me."

                   --Henry David Thoreau

The Wheel of the Year spins and we come together to honor the turning of the seasons and the Earth's never-ending cycles of life. We lift our arms to the Sun and welcome the power and passion of our magical intentions to grow the garden of our lives and the Earth.

Autumn Equinox Celebration & Ritual

Fall is the time of Thanksgiving, a time of gifts and blessings worldwide. Day and night are equal and the balance of giving and taking, of light and dark, summer and winter, life and death are the focus of this Sabbat. Though the year is waning and winter approaches, the emphasis is less on death than on the message of rebirth in the harvest seeds and the plenty of the season.

The theme for our 2014 ritual productions is Magic. This year is dedicated to an exploration into Magic and the lessons of transformation found in the Earth and Her seasons. With each Turn of the Wheel we embrace the inherent potential of magic and possibility.

Embody the Magic and Power
 of Gratitude

As Pagans, our teachings are found in nature, the seasons, cycles, and the cosmos . . . all of which are in a constant state of flux. We have no Bible, Torah, or Bhagavad Gita . . . but in nature we find the reflection/lessons for how to grow, live consciously, and create the life we deserve. For Pagans, Earth magic is a given. We understand the clarion call of life for annual resurrection and transformation. What we are bringing to our ritual theatre celebrations in 2014 are mythic lessons of the magic that powers the changing seasons.

Temple of the Goddess' Mythic Players invite you to join us in 2014 as we journey into the realm of magic . . . the magic of the Earth, the alchemy of seasons, and the magic of our own focused intentions as we grow the garden of our lives.

With Crow as a mythic guide, our ritual theatre celebrations in 2014 are mythic lessons about our own inherent magic when we connect to the cyclical growth of the seasons and the spiritual tools of intention, passion, gratitude, and gestation.

As a Shamanic totem, Crow dwells outside the realm of time and space with the power of shape-shifting and transformation. Crow, guardian of ceremonial magic and healing, knows the unknowable mysteries of creation and is the guide to change in consciousness that will bring about a new reality. Crow offers the courage to enter the darkness of the void, to create form and matter from the magic of our conscious intentions.

Autumn Equinox marks the balance found between the light and the ascending dark that marks the beginning of the coming change of seasons.

At this time of harvest we give thanks for the bounty of the Mother and celebrate the magic of nature which continues to nourish our bodies as Gaia, Mother Earth, nourishes our spirits. As we open our arms to give thanks at this magical time of harvest, our arms are open to receive Her continued blessings.

In ancient Greece the community would gather at the Temple of Delphi and call upon Gaia's sacred priestess, The Pythia, to vision and dream for them.

National Geographic describes the oracle of Delphi as a kind of telephone psychic of ancient times. People came from all over Europe to call on the Pythia at Mount Parnassus to have their questions about the future answered. Her answers could determine when farmers planted their fields or when an empire declared war. The Pythia, a role filled by different women from about 1400 B.C. to A.D. 381, was the medium through which the divine  spoke. Worshipers came from all around to give thanks to the Great Goddess Gaia and to seek wisdom and guidance from her holy priestess.

Even today we feel Her at Delphi in present day Greece. Gaia's magic and power still inhabit the ruins of the Temple that was built for Her and Her oracle, the Pythia of Delphi. It was to her Priestess that the Children of the Earth cried out for a potent and empowering prophecy from Gaia, the Great Mother of all: the primal Greek Mother Goddess; creatrix and giver of birth to the Earth and all the Universes. She is the power that enlivens all things, the celestial magic that moves the cosmos, life and death, above and below. Gaia is the animating life force in everything and everyone.

GAIA, Mother Earth by Arata

Join us to celebrate the Magic of the Fall, deep gratitude. As crow says, "I bring you the power to create magic from the source." Let us gather to call upon Gaia's sacred priestess, the Pythia, at Her Temple at Delphi, to vision and dream with us, to empower Gaia's prophesy.

Our evening of ritual theatre opens with a harvest processional and a song of gratitude as we "give thanks for the lessons, thanks for the blessings" we have received in 2014. As we honor our personal harvests we also begin the process of preparing the precious dream seeds for next year's planting.

Temple of the Goddess, and The Mythic Players, invite you to join us for an evening of art and ritual theatre in celebration of the Earth's never-ending cycles and the season of Autumn Equinox.

Mama Gaia

by Lindie-Lila

Spirit of Africa, home of my soul
Ancient mother, Goddess of all
Deep within her sacred soil
I hear the ancestors call, I hear her call.

Honored I feel to breathe her breath,
to bathe in her divine
Lying naked in her womb
She sings a lullaby.

When the night comes alive and I
I hear her cry.
And once again she sings that lullaby
And I hear her cry.

Mama, Mama Gaia, mother Divine
Mama Gaia, mother Divine.

Please forgive me that's all I ask,
Oh what have we done?
Remind me of her holiness,
Oh the time has come.

When the night comes alive and I
I hear her cry
And once again she sings that lullaby
And I hear her cry.

Mama, Mama Gaia, Mother Divine,
 Mama Gaia, Mother Divine

Daughters of Gaia, daughters of mine, will you hear me call?
Mama Gaia, Mother Divine, yes we hear your call!

Children of Africa, children of mine,
Will you hear me call?
Mama Gaia, Mother Divine
Yes we hear your call!

Earth children, babies of mine,
Can you hear me call?
Mama Gaia, mother Divine
Yes we hear your call!
