Happy New Year!!!
Thank you so much for praying for the ministry of Palmwood Church! The Core Team of our church plant is so appreciative of your partnership with us. Intercessory Prayer is the most important gift you can give to our kingdom work. |
PRAYER REQUESTS:
- Jobs - We are so thankful for the jobs some of our team members have already received. But both our families and Palmwood Church's fledgling ministry need support. Please pray for Kathryn Kimball to find work that allows her to help support the family, while at the same time having enough free time to care for both her and John's mothers. Please pray for Lauren Kimball to find favor with the Orange County School System (Orlando) for the one-on-one tutoring position she has been offered. Please pray for John Kimball as he pursues some additional Church Development and Ministerial Coaching contracts with the Praxis Center and also with CoachNet Global. Pray for Steve Olson to have wisdom in his decision about part time work for supplemental income. Pray for Toni McAndrew as she considers full time employment that will finally provide her health benefits.
- John Kimball's Health Update - Most of you now know that John was stricken with his first kidney stone only two weeks after moving to Florida. The stone was 5mm in diameter and lodged in his ureter, requiring John to go through two separate surgeries and to have stents in place for over 5 weeks. He also had a reaction to the procedures. John had the final stent removed the Tuesday before Christmas and is now on the mend. Pray for his complete healing and that God would prevent any additional stones in the future. Pray for the pathology and lab work to be clear on any dietary changes needed. And pray for provision for the Kimballs as the entire treatment was out of network for their Minnesota Insurance and they now have significant unplanned medical bills to pay. Fortunately, the family was able to finally get an affordable Florida health insurance policy through the Florida Exchange Program (Affordable Care Act). This is an important development, but does not begin until February 1. Please pray that the whole family remains healthy during January, and that any needed follow-up on John's treatment can be delayed until the insurance is available.
- Life Groups - We have begun one Life Group at the home of the Olsons on Thursday evenings. We are studying The Bondage Breaker by Neil Anderson. We hope to begin a second Life Group at the Kimball's home by mid February. We have made many new contacts with people and several are already joining us! Please pray for continued connections with people in our neighborhoods and the various places we visit throughout the community. Pray that each Life Group will not only grow great disciple-making relationships, but that people will use the informal atmosphere and hospitality in investigate Jesus for the first time as well!
- First Worship Service - Sunday, January 4, 2015 is our very first worship service at Palmwood Church! We are very excited and will still have some family with us from the holidays so it will be a great celebration. Please pray that time will be an awesome opportunity to worship Jesus together, to explain our vision, and to make more vital connections with people who are showing interest. We'll be inviting several people to join us for that day.
- Fund Raising - Now that the work is officially under way, Palmwood Church's budget will need to grow to accomplish the ministry vision God has given us. Our own team is taking many steps to sacrifically support the work, but until the church can become self-supporting (approximately 3 years), we need outside partners as well. As we begin this new year, would you prayerfully consider becoming a financial partner with us during this critical time? If you would like more information, John Kimball would happily meet with you (via phone, web conference or even personally) to discuss the vision and our specific needs. You may also follow the link below and set up online giving for both special gifts and regular giving. Direct any questions to our office at office@palmwoodchurch.com
