Spring Fling:
On May 1st, we held our first annual Spring Fling for our Heritage Hills community. Although the weather was more like winter than spring, it certainly did not dampen the enthusiasm.  We had to hold the event indoors rather than out, but the kids still enjoyed various arts and crafts projects and the many scrumptious treats provided to all. Everyone, including the big kids (adults) were really impressed with The Birds of Prey exhibit from HawkQuest.  We were able to see some amazing birds up close, including a beautiful American Bald Eagle.  Thanks to everyone who braved the cold weather. If you have any ideas for next year we would love to hear them.

Suspicious
SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY REPORTED
Heritage Hills residents have reported a skinny man about 5'8" tall, usually wearing all black and black high top tennis shoes has been seen walking around Heritage Hills. His face is tan and has pock marks and he has big ears that stick out. He is believed to be working with one or two other tall white men. They are looking for open garages and stealing bikes and maybe other small items. PLEASE, CLOSE YOUR GARAGE DOOR AT ALL TIMES, EVEN WHEN CUTTING YOUR LAWN IN THE BACKYARD.  He also fits the description of a bike thief in Centennial.
Report Suspicious Activity to the Lone Tree Police.
Pedestrian Gates and any other gates besides the Heritage Hills Parkway gates that individuals can walk through should be closed or locked at all times. If you see one open or unlocked, please report it to our Community Manager.
Q: Who do I contact if I see a problem around the neighborhood-specifically in common areas? For example: common area sprinkler head is broken and water is pouring out onto the street?

A: Please contact our Community Manager-Shannon Torgerson at [email protected] or 303-265-7816. If it is after business hours and requires immediate attention such as the example above, call 303-779-4525 and text information to
303-903-9760. Please be as specific as possible about the location of the problem. Do not use these numbers for police, fire or personal emergencies.

REPORT SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
Several cars in Heritage Hills have been broken into and/or stolen and property has been stolen from front porches and garages. Report suspicious activity to the Lone Tree Police.

SLOW DOWN AND STOP AT STOP SIGNS!
Nice weather brings kids and adults out so obey the traffic signs and help KEEP HERITAGE HILLS SAFE. We continue to get reports of reckless driving, speeding and ignoring stop signs. Remember these are not always victimless crimes.

WATCH OUT
Since we continue to receive complaints about bad driving in Heritage Hills and children ignoring street safety, we advise all residents, adults and children to be cautious and alert.  Everyone, including children, on any mode of transportation (cars, bikes, scooters, etc.) or walking needs to always watch out for the 'other guy'!

BE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR PET(S)
All household pets shall be controlled by their owner and shall not be allowed off the Owner's Unit except when
properly leashed and accompanied by the pet owner or Owner's representative.
When your pet is outside: clean up after your pet, do not allow your pet to bark or make noises that will disturb your neighbors. Complaints from neighbors may result in violation letters or include the City of Lone Tree Animal Control Officer.

MeetMEET YOUR NEIGHBORS
My name is Shannon Weston.  My husband's name is Mark and we have four children- Ben (25), Meghan (18), Kyle (16), and Delaney (13).  We have lived in Lone Tree since we were married in 1995- which was actually prior to the City of Lone Tree actually becoming incorporated.  Back then we built our first house over by the Lone Tree Golf Club, and absolutely loved the location.  At that time there was no Park Meadows Mall, no gas station, no grocery store, and virtually no restaurants within a few miles. I actually think the only retail or services within what is now the city limits was the little strip center that is located on Yosemite and Maximus.   Lincoln was a two lane street with just one stop sign- and Yosemite was the same.  It has been so fun to see how Lone Tree has exploded into an amazing city packed full of everything we could ever possibly want or need in a 3 mile radius.

When our family expanded beyond the capacity of our first home, we decided to design and build a house a Heritage Hills in 2005.  We worked with a custom builder and he opened a lot for us, so were the first people in our side of the neighborhood.  From our house we could see no other homes that were occupied from any angle around us.  We felt very isolated especially after living in a great neighborhood full of kids.  I had no idea at that point how kid-friendly Heritage Hills actually is.  One day I looked out my back window and saw a tractor driving right  through my back yard- with the driver blissfully unaware we were actually living in the house.  For the rest of the story-Click Here

Homeowners interested in replacing their turf may want to consider Dog Tuff grass. This is a new variety that requires very little water, is hardy and requires little mowing.  This sod is only available in limited quantity at this time. Owners considering artificial turf should be aware that it collects a lot of dirt and is difficult to keep looking good.
