2040 MASTER PLAN

Our staff is currently gathering feedback from the community about the future of our agency - to the year 2040 and beyond. This includes new roads, expansion projects, new technologies and multimodal transportation.

At our August meeting, the board will participate in a workshop to develop a new vision statement for CFX. Stay tuned!

GIVING BACK

Members of our team volunteered for Protiviti's i on Hunger event on April 10 at Oakridge High School. The program's goal is to provide one million meals by this October to those struggling with hunger across the globe.

We helped pack 56,160 meals, which were provided to Bags of Hope and the Salvation Army.

CFX EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Laura Kelley has been named the first Executive Director of the Central Florida Expressway Authority. Serving as Deputy Executive Director of Finance and Administration for a decade, she assisted in the management of the agency's 109-mile expressway system and 58 staff members.

Ms. Kelley has more than 30 years of experience in transportation, helping shape national, state and local policy.

TIPS FOR TOURISTS

More than 62 million visitors traveled to Central Florida last year, generating a $60 billion impact to our region. In recognition of May 2-10 as National Tourism Week, here are some tips to share with your out-of-town guests.

Map it first. The expressways are a choice. Before you head out the door, plan your route and see if it includes tolls. Use our online toll calculator to figure out your trip cost.

Talk to your rental car company. Most rental car companies offer E-PASS and SunPass transponders for tolls. These companies are billed directly for the tolls incurred by their customers. Check with your company regarding their fees for this service. Click here to learn more.

Be prepared with coins. If you don't have a transponder, it's always best to travel around Central Florida with a roll of quarters in your vehicle. Mainline plazas have staff to provide change and receipts, however, all ramp plazas are unmanned and require exact change only.
