Our board held its third official meeting on Thursday, September 11. Meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month at 9 AM. Our next board meeting will be on October 9. Visit our homepage and click the OrangeTV  link to watch live.

Five-Year Work Plan

The board approved our FY 2015-2019
Five-Year Work Plan. This nearly $1.2B program will include the following projects:

  • Wekiva Parkway
  • Partnership with FDOT to improve
    I-4 Ultimate / SR 408 Interchange
  • SR 528 Airport Plaza Demolition
  • SR 528 / Innovation Way Interchange

Executive Director Search

The board also approved the advertisement for a new executive director for the agency. Staff will be working with a search firm to identify qualified candidates across the country.

Once the list of applicants has been narrowed down, each board member will interview the candidates individually before making a final decision.

WEKIVA PARKWAY OPEN HOUSE

Join us for a pre-construction community open house about our first section of the Wekiva Parkway. Section 1A and 1B are to be built from near US Highway 441 and Plymouth Sorrento Road to north of Kelly Park Road.

E-PASS FOR MOTORCYCLES

Can motorcycle riders use E-PASS to pay for tolls? Yes, you can use a plastic transponder. Place it in a saddle bag or use zip ties to secure a "bumper mounted" transponder to your bike. Call (407) 823-7277 or visit one of our service centers for more information.

The most important thing to do is update your vehicle information in your E-PASS account. Make sure your license plate number is correct. This will prevent you from receiving an Unpaid Toll Notice.

NOTE: You can't use the E-PASS Mini Sticker on a motorcycle. The sticker requires a large glass windshield that acts as an antenna and will not function properly on a motorcycle windscreen. Also, if the sticker is attached to a motorcycle windscreen, the adhesive will cause damage.

This month, Alayna Curry presented to the Apopka Chapter of the Gold Wing Road Riders about CFX.
SAFETY SPOTLIGHT

Safety is a top priority for CFX. We want to make sure our system is a safe alternative for drivers. This month, we're highlighting ITS (Intelligent Transportation System).

ITS technology allows us to use data from E-PASS transponders to predict travel times.* We share this information on our message boards to help you make smart and safe choices about your commute. We also share real-time accident information and Amber and Silver Alerts on our message boards.

*No personal account information is used to collect this data.

CORRECTION: In last month's newsletter we mentioned the Move Over Law. The law states that you must move over when you see a police officer or Road Ranger on the side of the road. If you can't move over, slow to 20 MPH less than the posted speed limit.
