One week from tomorrow we enter into an important and exciting period in the life of our church. On Saturday, Sept. 17, we officially launch As For Me & My House, a visioning process that will help us look to the future and discern where and who God is calling us to be as a congregation. On that day, the 10-member Core Leadership Team that will guide us through this process will spend the day with Dr. Eric McKinney from the Texas Methodist Foundation...

Lord's Acre
October 1, 11:00am - 5:00pm
The Lord's Acre team has been hard at work and now need your support! Visit the Connection Center to purchase kids wristbands for $10 ($15 day of), volunteer or pick up a pan for a casserole or baked good.

AUMC ARTISANS
If you are donating a handmade item to our Lord's Acre Silent Auction this year, please let me know. I would like to have a table that spotlights our local talent. This includes items made by amateurs and our serious artists. Anything from DIY and Pinterest project crafts to professional products!!! We would LOVE to have your items for the auction. As For Me and My House
Aledo UMC will begin our process of visioning and discernment on Sept. 17 when
 the 10-member Core Leadership Team meets for the first time with Dr. Eric McKinney from the Texas Methodist Foundation. That team was approved on Tuesday by the Church Council. The members of the Core Leadership Team are: Lee Ancona, Ed Byrd, Aleshia Howe, Wes Griffin, Russell Smith, Emily Kite, Sussie Jordan, Joy Moore, Kathy Parris, and Chris Babcock.

All who are "young at heart" are invited to an evening of fun and fellowship, the 3rd Friday of each month. We meet for a potluck supper, followed by an evening of fun. AUMC Student Ministries

Join us for whirly ball! It's Aledo's bye week, so we are hitting the bumper cars for some fun. There will also be games and snacks available if your student wants to bring extra money. Cost for whirly ball and dinner is $15.

The TLC Sunday school class will be hosting a guest speaker, Dina Malki. She holds a Master's degree in Islamic Studies and Christian Muslim relations. Everyone is invited to join them as Ms. Malki brings a fresh view of Islam to their class.

Re-discovering the Bible
Beginning September 21 for 6 weeks, 6:30pm
Are you in need of a Bible refresher? Do your kids come home from Sunday school asking you, "Were Jonah and Jesus friends?" and you find yourself at a loss. Join Trudy Smith for an overview of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. All you need to bring is your Bible! For more info contact [email protected].

September Aledo UMC Kids Mission Project
We will be collecting books for Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth. They are in need of children's books for their book cart. Books need to be new/unused for ages 0-10.  Books can be dropped of in the marked bin in the Narthex.
Third Grade Bibles

Attention 3rd Grade Parents! Third graders will receive Bibles on Sunday, October 9. Please email Jennifer McDaniel by September 21 to reserve a Bible for your child. Please include how you would like your child's name inscribed in the Bible.
