Good Luck Trojans

The Cary Grove High School Trojan Football Team will be playing in the State 7A Championship Game this Saturday at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana at 4:00 p.m. CGHS will be playing the Celtics of Providence Catholic High School.
The Trojans are set to begin the 178-mile drive to Champaign on Friday afternoon. A sendoff is scheduled for noon that day at the high school.

Clothing Donations Needed Life Skills Reentry Program Trout Valley resident Maggie Haak is asking for donations of gently used professional clothing to benefit clients of the Life Skills Reentry Program at Roosevelt University in Chicago. The program clients, many of whom are homeless, are in need of items to wear to job interviews and to work. Especially needed are: dress shirts, nice pants, suit jackets or suits for men; blouses, skirts and nice pants for women. Big and tall sizes would be especially appreciated, as would dress shoes in good condition for both men and women. If you have items to donate, please call or text Maggie at 847-814-2263, or just drop them off at 49 Marryat Road. There will be a box outside the garage door for this purpose. Many thanks, in advance, for your generosity!" Welcome New Residents!
Please warmly welcome a new family to our Trout Valley community! Katie and Joe Florio have settled into their new home at 107 Trout Valley Road. When they were house hunting, and viewed their potential new home, it just spoke to them and they said, "This is it!" They love the woods, deer, ponds, peacefulness, and they felt like they fit in right away.
Katie and Joe moved from Grayslake just a few weeks ago. They have already met so many of their new neighbors and feel so welcomed and at home. Katie was raised in Wilmette and worked for the Army in Intelligence for six years. Later, she got her degree in Occupational Health and Safety from Columbia Southern University. She is now pursuing a Master's Degree in Environmental Sustainability from the University of Wisconsin. She currently works for ESIS, a Health, Safety, and Environmental company in the Loop as a Business Develop Manager. Katie enjoys running, is a tri-athlete, and loves horses, dogs and people.
Joe grew up in the Bridgeport neighborhood of Chicago and attended Washburn Trade School for cabinet making and millwork. He has been a custom cabinet maker for over twenty four years. He's also been a trade show production manager for over twenty six years. For the last eleven years he's worked at Fabric Images in Elgin, a fabric architecture company, doing sales and event work. Joe loves to restore homes, ride his Harley, go boating, and play the guitar. Joe and Katie love to entertain and cook for family and friends.
They have two adult sons, Joe and Dominick. Joe, 24, received his degree from Monmouth College in Political Science and Journalism. He is currently studying at George Washington College in Washington, DC for a Master's Degree in Political Management. He works very hard on political campaigns, loves running, Chicago sports teams and is very social! Dominick, 21, attends the Berkeley School of Music in Boston. He is studying piano, voice, guitar, and is a songwriter. He has released two albums on Spotify and i-tunes.
Their family is complete with two beloved rescue dogs, Frank and Sophie Rose. Stop by and say "hello" to this warm and hospitable family!

 Meet More New "Neighbors"
The New "Krueger" Barn Cats Last summer TV experienced a bumper crop of outdoor kittens. Our family took a few brothers and have raised them to be outdoor barn/field cats - specifically to reduce the field mice population in the upper riding pasture and riding paddocks, adjacent to our house and yard. We are already starting to see a large decline in the local rodent population and couldn't be happier! The cats are extremely friendly, and a few kind residents have taken them home thinking that they were lost. They wear break-away collars but seem to have figured out how to take them off every chance they get. If you see them patrolling around the barn, fields or Hawthorne Way, please don't worry. They have comfortable, heated indoor shelter, food and water at all times - and these cats are well-loved by our children! River Road becomes one-way when it snows
Although we have only seen a dusting of snow thus far, it is good to remember the change to River Road that goes into effect.
When it snows, traffic on River Road becomes one-way (down hill) from Stonegate Road to Trout Valley Road (at the bridge). With River Road being so narrow and the incline so steep, going uphill puts you and those driving down River Road in danger. Once the weather improves and the roads are cleared, the restriction is lifted.

11a. No garbage cans, or other containers or other items of personal property except firewood for
fireplaces, shall be stored on the outside of any lot used or to be used for residential purposes nor
shall laundry be permitted to hang on the outside.
11b. No recreational equipment such as boats and boat trailers, recreational vehicles, campers,
horse trailers and similar mobile recreational items may be stored, kept, placed or maintained on
any lot except during the period or season of active use as defined or determined by the Trout
Valley Association.

Changes to the Association's Board
Due to ever-increasing professional obligations, Jeff Greenwald has resigned his Board position; his resignation was effective October 20. At the October 20 meeting, the Board appointed Tom Lentz to complete the term of this seat, which ends in September 2015. Tom will take on the Social, Deed Restrictions and Insurance committees. Thanks, Tom, for stepping up to serve on the Association Board!
Call the Sheriff
If you are aware of a problem in the community, it's often best to call the McHenry County Sheriff to ensure they have a record of the problem. If your home is burglarized, you witness vandalism, you see people loitering down by the river or at other locations within the Valley, please inform the Sheriff. Maintaining a connection with the Sheriff's office helps to ensure the security of our community. The Sheriff's non-emergency number is (815) 338-2144.

Election packets now available for the
April 7, 2015 Consolidated Elections
for
Village President and Village Trustee positions
The Village of Trout Valley has the office of President and four Trustee positions to be elected in the April 7, 2015 Consolidated Elections. Three of the Trustee positions serve a four-year term and one has a two-year term.
The office of President serves a four-year term.
The Village board meets approximately seven times a year. The filing period is from December 15th through December 22nd, 2014. Residents are encouraged to apply. Please contact Tonia Gonzalez, Village Clerk at (847) 477-8170 for further details.

Rotary Club of Cary-Grove Winter Farmers' Market
In support of local farmers and vendors, the Rotary Club of Cary-Grove will be holding a winter farmers' market on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month through early spring. Santa's Workshop - Cary Park District
Board the train with your family and ride to Santa's Workshop where he will be waiting to hear your wish lists. A lunch buffet will be served with plenty of time afterward to visit with Santa. Then, board the train back to Cary. Don't forget your camera to capture the memory of this very special day with your family.

address book, if you like. I never noticed this option, so it may be part of a recent software upgrade.
Steps:
*Go to the website, click on the "Resources" tab and then choose "Address Book."
*Search for your name
*Click "Edit this person" at the bottom of the page
*Edit or add any information you would like, including the photo section
*Below the address section, there is a section called "Resident Photo 1"
*Click "Choose File" and upload a photo from your computer. If you are having trouble getting it to load, it may be because the photo is too large. You can re-size your picture using software on your computer, or by using a website like picmonkey.com to make your picture smaller. *Save changes on the bottom of the page, before you exit.

Welcome Lady!
There's a new Welcome Lady in town!! Terry Parrilli has graciously offered to bring back our old tradition of visiting the homes of new neighbors to bring them neighborhood greetings and information. She will be able to answer your questions about our village and association, the many wonderful amenities, and the clubs and activities that are available, etc.
She has already started contacting some of our new neighbors, but if you moved in recently and would like a visit - please feel free to contact Terry.

Blast versus Newsletter?
We've recently had questions and requests for sending out email blasts to Trout Valley residents. These have included blasts for charitable donations and open houses. Most community information can be circulated in the weekly newsletter. The blasts are reserved for important and time-sensitive information. We want residents to know that when they receive a blast, they should read it as soon as they can, as it is something of concern for the community.
When we reject a blast request, we are trying to balance the need to communicate effectively and quickly with Trout Valley against the rights of the residents not to be overwhelmed with local messages. If we don't send out a lot of blasts, we hope those we do send get your attention. We appreciate your consideration.
