Family Halloween Party

October 31, 2014, 4 p.m. at the lodge

Come see all the kids in costumes, it'll be quite a sight
When we celebrate at our family party on Halloween Night.

Neighborhood monsters and their families wanting to ride through Trout Valley on a tractor pulled trailer, please join us at the lodge at 4:00 with your little ones dressed in costumes with a candy bag ready to go. The tractor will take the kids to most streets in the neighborhood. After they are good and tried and growing hungry, please join us at the lodge for a evening of family fun pot luck style. We will be serving chili with all the sides.

Please click on the link below and reply to Michelle Greenwald at greenwaldfamily@att.net with your name next to item you are able to bring. In addition, we need a head count so we don't run out of chili. There will be a kid friendly Halloween movie and a bonfire to make s'mores.

Printer Friendly Form

Suggested items to bring: blankets, sticks for s'mores, baby wipes, outdoor seating and outdoor lighting/candles.

We hope you can join us for a spooky good time!

Welcome Lady!

There's a new Welcome Lady in town!!  Terry Parrilli has graciously offered to bring back our old tradition of visiting the homes of new neighbors to bring them neighborhood greetings and information.  She will be able to answer your questions about our village and association, the many wonderful amenities, and the clubs and activities that are available, etc.

She has already started contacting some of our new neighbors, but if you moved in recently and would like a visit - please feel free to contact Terry.

Reminder About Golf Cart Drivers

There are a lot of golf carts being driven by kids on the roads in the Valley. The Golf-cart guidelines clearly state that all drivers MUST have a drivers' license.

Section from our guidelines:

State law permits local governing bodies to allow golf carts on local streets under certain
circumstances. They may operate only on streets with a posted speed limit of 35 mph or less, the drivers  must have valid Illinois drivers' licenses, and the vehicles must have brakes, steering, a rear-view mirror, headlights, taillights, brake lights, turn signals, reflectors on the front and back, and "slow-moving vehicle" signs in the rear. Although Trout Valley's streets are private and not subject to these rules, for the protection and safety of the community, the State's requirements are being enforced.

Thank you,

Wally Zimmerman

Send blast submissions
to Bob Baker at
 Blast versus Newsletter?

We've recently had questions and requests for sending out email blasts to Trout Valley residents.  These have included blasts for charitable donations and open houses.  Most community information can be circulated in the weekly newsletter.  The blasts are reserved for important and time-sensitive information.  We want residents to know that when they receive a blast, they should read it as soon as they can, as it is something of concern for the community.

When we reject a blast request, we are trying to balance the need to communicate effectively and quickly with Trout Valley against the rights of the residents not to be overwhelmed with local messages.  If we don't send out a lot of blasts, we hope those we do send get your attention. We appreciate your consideration.

Thanks, Bob Baker
