Reminder About Golf Cart Drivers
There are a lot of golf carts being driven by kids on the roads in the Valley. The Golf-cart guidelines clearly state that all drivers MUST have a drivers' license.
Section from our guidelines:
State law permits local governing bodies to allow golf carts on local streets under certain
circumstances. They may operate only on streets with a posted speed limit of 35 mph or less, the drivers must have valid Illinois drivers' licenses, and the vehicles must have brakes, steering, a rear-view mirror, headlights, taillights, brake lights, turn signals, reflectors on the front and back, and "slow-moving vehicle" signs in the rear. Although Trout Valley's streets are private and not subject to these rules, for the protection and safety of the community, the State's requirements are being enforced.
Thank you,
Wally Zimmerman

Welcome to the Neighborhood!
Please give a warm Trout Valley "welcome" to Simon and Jade Weinstein.
Simon and Jade moved into the historic chauffer's home from the John D. Hertz era at 261 Stonegate Road. They have a two year old son, Grayson, and are expecting a baby girl in December. This is their first home and they moved from the Lakeview neighborhood in Chicago. Darla, their friendly dog, and Oscar, their shy cat, round out the family.
Simon and Jade met while students at Indiana University. Simon is a graphic designer and photographer for Ernst & Young in Chicago. Jade is floating part-time nurse at Rush Hospital in Chicago, and her specialty is Hematology and Oncology.
Simon is a classically trained pianist, plays the guitar, and is learning to play the drums, which he inherited from Jade's father. He is a wedding photographer in his spare time and enjoys the Bears, Bulls, and skiing and snowboarding in Breckenridge and Vail.
Jade enjoys cooking with organic and natural foods. She is launching a blog about preparing natural and organic food for toddlers. While she doesn't play any instruments, she shares a love of music with Simon. They love Colorado and Jade also loves to ski.
The history, friendliness, and beauty of Trout Valley, along with taking walks and being outdoors with Grayson, are what they enjoy about their new home. Jade is interested in starting up a Mother and Toddler group in the neighborhood. Anyone interested, please give her a call at 574-849-7230.
We are thrilled you chose Trout Valley as the perfect place to raise your family.

Blast versus Newsletter?
We've recently had questions and requests for sending out email blasts to Trout Valley residents. These have included blasts for charitable donations and open houses. Most community information can be circulated in the weekly newsletter. The blasts are reserved for important and time-sensitive information. We want residents to know that when they receive a blast, they should read it as soon as they can, as it is something of concern for the community.
When we reject a blast request, we are trying to balance the need to communicate effectively and quickly with Trout Valley against the rights of the residents not to be overwhelmed with local messages. If we don't send out a lot of blasts, we hope those we do send get your attention. We appreciate your consideration.
Thanks, Bob Baker
