Editor's Note,
We are back to the regular format this week. Thank you for your patience and support of my "mini newsletter" last week, as our daughter has been recovering from surgery. As usual, our neighbors have been wonderful and we thank you all for the many prayers.
The Summer Events in the Area section below is stuffed with fun ideas for the upcoming week!
We have maintained a policy of not accepting advertising in our newsletter or posting items for sale, but we have decided to allow posts for estate sales and garage sales that are taking place in Trout Valley, as a service to our neighbors. These will be found in the Summer Events section. Information may be sent to troutvalleynews@gmail.com.
Thank you,

Pet News
You may have noticed that there has been an influx of stray cats in our neighborhood, lately. I befriended one of these cats and have taken her to a vet who will spay stray cats.
I really want to find her a nice home and I might as well start here. We have a full house of pets right now, and we cannot keep her on a permanent basis.
Information:
Young female cat, about 12 mos. old, recently neutered with all required shots and tests (courtesy of Animal Outreach Society) for adoption -free to a good home! This was a stray or abandoned cat found near the barn in June. She is extremely friendly, chatty, craves affection and will follow you like a dog. She's a good hunter - mice and chipmunks are her loving offerings. She is comfortable outside or inside (housebroken). She is good with other cats, even good with dogs until she's tired of playing. Her face looks like a cross between a mountain lion and a bobcat. Many more pictures are available or come meet her. Call Ann Somers at 847-639-1278 or 847-404-3802.

Welcome to the Neighborhood!
Please give a warm, Trout Valley "welcome" to David and Pam Basey. They reside at 259 Stonegate Road and moved here from Carpentersville. They have eight children: Avery - 13, Katrina - 11, Hannah - 10, Sam - 9, Jordyn - 9, Lily - 5, Jack - 4, and Billy - 2.
David works as a financial advisor for Assetellas, a pharmaceutical company, and Pam is a stay-home mom. They love the outdoors and enjoy fishing, boating, and camping in Wisconsin. For over a year, they looked for a new home in every neighborhood in the area, and finally settled on Trout Valley because of a beautiful apple tree in their own yard. The Basey family stays busy with Cary Trojan's cheerleading, football, baseball, and soccer. They love the peacefulness of living in Trout Valley and the natural beauty all around them.
We are happy that fruit-bearing apple tree convinced you to make Trout Valley your new family home!

WOOD CHIPPING
Please familiarize yourself with our wood chipping regulations. We also ask that piles of brush be arranged with all the cut ends facing the street. Large haphazard jumbles of branches take three times as long to chip - and may be passed up if they are too tangled. It will be Bernie's call on what is too tangled.
Watch the white boards near the road intersections by the barn for future chipping dates.

Blast versus Newsletter?
We've recently had questions and requests for sending out email blasts to Trout Valley residents. These have included blasts for charitable donations and open houses. Most community information can be circulated in the weekly newsletter. The blasts are reserved for important and time-sensitive information. We want residents to know that when they receive a blast, they should read it as soon as they can, as it is something of concern for the community.
When we reject a blast request, we are trying to balance the need to communicate effectively and quickly with Trout Valley against the rights of the residents not to be overwhelmed with local messages. If we don't send out a lot of blasts, we hope those we do send get your attention. We appreciate your consideration.
Thanks, Bob Baker
