Winter Tree Pruning in Trout Valley
(potential road closures)
Tree Pruning on River Drive , starting at High Street and finishing at Stonegate Road, will begin on Monday, March 17. The River Drive entrance to Trout Valley will be closed from 8:00am to 4:30 pm. for 3 days.
Tree pruning will continue on Tuesday, March 18, and hopefully finishing on Thursday, March 20. There will be no pruning on Wednesday, March 19th, due to Garbage Collection Day. Care of Trees will try to do approximately 3 driveways at a time, so that residents living on River Drive and Country Commons will be able to get to their homes. Machinery will be blocking any attempt at through traffic.
A ROAD CLOSED Sign will be posted at High Street and Wulff street those 3 days. Machinery will be blocking any attempt at through traffic on River Drive.
Care of Trees will lay the branches on the grass by the side of the road and then Bernie and Tony will remove the branches when all the pruning by Care of Trees is complete.
Thank you for your cooperation!

Salt
As you've probably heard on news reports, road salt supplies are running very low throughout the area. We are lucky that we can still get salt, but we cannot get much. Therefore, during any upcoming snow events, we may not be able to salt the roads. Please prepare and respond practically. Also, keep in mind that when we've had snow or ice, River becomes one-way going down from Stonegate Road - don't try to go up that hill when the roads are bad.
Keep your fingers crossed that the snow is over and keep repeating this mantra;
In like a lion, out like a lamb
In like a lion, out like a lamb
In like a lion, out like a lamb...

Tennis Club News
Saves These Dates
The Trout Valley Tennis Club has been a vibrant part of Trout Valley for 41 years, because tennis is a sport that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. The courts were resurfaced last year, and continue to offer a picturesque setting where you never have to wait for a court! Many of our residents have benefitted by becoming members of the club, by taking lessons from a pro, or by participating in fun, social events that the club has offered. The major renovation took place last year, but resealing and other upkeep is needed to keep the courts beautiful. Two fundraising events are back by popular demand:

New Contact Information for Bernie in Maintenance
We've had a lot of problems in the past with Bernie's cell phone. The phone service was poor at best, and many of his emails and text messages were not getting through in a timely manner. We originally were going to switch using his old phone number, but that proved impossible. Ditto with his email address.

Blast versus Newsletter?
We've recently had questions and requests for sending out email blasts to Trout Valley residents. These have included blasts for charitable donations and open houses. Most community information can be circulated in the weekly newsletter. The blasts are reserved for important and time-sensitive information. We want residents to know that when they receive a blast, they should read it as soon as they can, as it is something of concern for the community.
When we reject a blast request, we are trying to balance the need to communicate effectively and quickly with Trout Valley against the rights of the residents not to be overwhelmed with local messages. If we don't send out a lot of blasts, we hope those we do send get your attention. We appreciate your consideration.
Thanks, Bob Baker
