Slippery Roads - Caution Needed!
As we all are aware, the terrible weather and our hills are creating dangerous road conditions this winter. Like Trout Valley, area communities have faced significant challenges keeping roads free of snow and ice, and the high demand for salt has resulted in a shortage. We are getting help from the Township, although our roads are done after other roads are taken care of. The roads are wet and there is slush in some places, so as temperatures drop tonight, conditions will become very slick. The Township will salt the most critical streets, but please be certain to use caution as you drive through the neighborhood.
Trout Valley Calendars
The Questers group has several 2014 Trout Valley calendars remaining from the sale in December. Priced at $10 in December, the calendars are now $6 with free delivery! Contact Ann Somers at acs181@aol.com (847-639-1278) or Kristin Purtill at khp190@aol.com (847-639-1419. We also want to thank everyone who participated in the beautiful display of luminaria on Christmas Eve. It was one of the best in years with over 2,500 lit candles throughout the Valley. Thanks also to George Liautaud and Christian Greenwald for offering the set-up service. We all know it's a tough job, but it is well appreciated by so many!

Blast versus Newsletter?
We've recently had questions and requests for sending out email blasts to Trout Valley residents. These have included blasts for charitable donations and open houses. Most community information can be circulated in the weekly newsletter. The blasts are reserved for important and time-sensitive information. We want residents to know that when they receive a blast, they should read it as soon as they can, as it is something of concern for the community.
When we reject a blast request, we are trying to balance the need to communicate effectively and quickly with Trout Valley against the rights of the residents not to be overwhelmed with local messages. If we don't send out a lot of blasts, we hope those we do send get your attention. We appreciate your consideration.
Thanks, Bob Baker
