Trout Valley Calendars

The Questers group has several 2014 Trout Valley calendars remaining from the sale in December.  Priced at $10 in December, the calendars are now $6 with free delivery!  Contact Ann Somers at acs181@aol.com (847-639-1278) or Kristin Purtill at khp190@aol.com (847-639-1419.

We also want to thank everyone who participated in the beautiful display of luminaria on Christmas Eve.  It was one of the best in years with over 2,500 lit candles throughout the Valley.  Thanks also to George Liautaud and Christian Greenwald for offering the set-up service.  We all know it's a tough job, but it is well appreciated by so many!

A BIG THANK YOU for the many supporters of
Trout Valley's Successful Annual Pig Roast!!!

The numbers are finally tallied and I wanted to recognize many people who made this EVENT a HUGE success!!  We had about 70 individuals attend this unique event (55 had RSVP 'd).  Hopefully, there was enough 'PIG' to be shared by ALL!!  With little time invested, the FUNDRAISER EVENT made close to $1,000.00 for the pool!!  What FUN was had by ALL!!

A big THANK YOU to the Wheelhouse family who came up with this great idea, and for sharing their culinary expertise!  Newcomers, as well as long-time residents, came together to coordinate this event..

Many thanks to:

Laura Nemit,
who found the tasty smoke hog establishment for us to enjoy,
Carrie Krueger who coordinated the side dishes, Jenny Liautaud who welcomed the guests, the volunteers who helped with the set up and clean up of the Lodge, Greg Henderson who imported many 'mini kegs' from his trips to and from Germany, the Cummings who had to run out to 7/11 because we ran short of beer, and a BIG BIG thanks to Dave Peterson who set up the bonfire and donated his portable patio lamps to keep us warm.  Trout Valley is an AMAZING place to live and the amount of enthusiasm from our guests made for a successful evening in October.  Thank you ALL for your support and enthusiasm for a successful Pool Fundraiser!  We were impressed with the positive comments and the many NEWCOMERS who want to participate and host this event next year.

Sally Henderson

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!

River Road Direction During Heavy Snow

Just a reminder for our new residents that during heavy snowfalls, River Road becomes a one way street (down only).  The additional snow narrows the road and it becomes difficult for two cars to pass.
Residents who live closer to the river are advised to exit through the ponds instead of driving up River.  Those who live on Marryat and Cahill are asked to turn left on River and cross the bridge, instead of driving up River toward the pool.  Again, please use care and caution (plus reduced speed) when traveling on our winding roads.

Send blast submissions
to Bob Baker at
 Blast versus Newsletter?

We've recently had questions and requests for sending out email blasts to Trout Valley residents.  These have included blasts for charitable donations and open houses.  Most community information can be circulated in the weekly newsletter.  The blasts are reserved for important and time-sensitive information.  We want residents to know that when they receive a blast, they should read it as soon as they can, as it is something of concern for the community.

When we reject a blast request, we are trying to balance the need to communicate effectively and quickly with Trout Valley against the rights of the residents not to be overwhelmed with local messages.  If we don't send out a lot of blasts, we hope those we do send get your attention. We appreciate your consideration.

Thanks, Bob Baker
