Snow Business
(these two announcements were sent out as a blast earlier in the week)
As residents know, this early winter has already been a challenge for keeping our roads clear, salted and safe. In fact, our Trout Valley Maintenance truck was damaged over the weekend when it slid off the road in the freezing sleet and hit a tree. There was significant damage to the truck. We have asked for the Township's assistance to help keep our roads plowed and salted until we can get the truck repaired. It will help that Dillon, a former Trout Valley Maintenance crewman, works for the Township and is familiar with the topography of our roads. The downside is the Township has to complete the plowing on its roads before it can plow Trout Valley. We are asking all residents to be patient and understanding during difficult weather conditions. Our roads will be plowed and salted, but it may be later than usual until we can get our Maintenance crew fully functional. With snow in the forecast, try to plan ahead and please drive cautiously on our scenic, but slippery, Trout Valley roads. Warn your friends and guests as well!
The Snow Must Go On
Just a reminder for our new residents that during heavy snowfalls, River Road becomes a one way street (down only). The additional snow narrows the road and it becomes difficult for two cars to pass.
Residents who live closer to the river are advised to exit through the ponds instead of driving up River. Those who live on Marryat and Cahill are asked to turn left on River and cross the bridge, instead of driving up River toward the pool. Again, please use care and caution (plus reduced speed) when traveling on our winding roads.
Happy New Year!

Lock and Key
At the last board meeting, it was decided that it is time to get new locks and keys on the lodge and the barn. If you need a copy of the new keys, please call Laurie Almeraz. Laurie will manage the list of people who have keys. (Please do not call Bernie for keys). The new keys will be numbered and will not be allowed to be duplicated. Thank you Wally Zimmerman *********************************** Upcoming Board Meetings

Blast versus Newsletter?
We've recently had questions and requests for sending out email blasts to Trout Valley residents. These have included blasts for charitable donations and open houses. Most community information can be circulated in the weekly newsletter. The blasts are reserved for important and time-sensitive information. We want residents to know that when they receive a blast, they should read it as soon as they can, as it is something of concern for the community.
When we reject a blast request, we are trying to balance the need to communicate effectively and quickly with Trout Valley against the rights of the residents not to be overwhelmed with local messages. If we don't send out a lot of blasts, we hope those we do send get your attention. We appreciate your consideration.
Thanks, Bob Baker
