Lock and Key
At the last board meeting, it was decided that it is time to get new locks and keys on the lodge and the barn. If you need a copy of the new keys, please call Laurie Almeraz. Laurie will manage the list of people who have keys. (Please do not call Bernie for keys). The new keys will be numbered and will not be allowed to be duplicated. Thank you Wally Zimmerman *********************************** Upcoming Board Meetings

Have you had issues with flooding?
The village of Trout Valley is preparing a comprehensive report on flood causes, flood costs and flood remedies. Please email John Liautaud at leonafarm@aol.com, totaling your flood costs over the last ten years. If you have not incurred any costs, you do not need to respond."
One source of funding is grant money. I am looking for a person to serve as a grant chairperson. No experience is necessary and I can help you get started. Please contact me if you are willing to assist.
Thank you,
John Liautaud

It's that time of year once more when we give a big "THANK YOU" to those who have helped us all year. Bernie and Tony (our maintenance crew) have done a fabulous job of keeping the Valley looking great and keeping the roads as free of ice and snow as they can. If you'd like to give them some Christmas cheer, you can either leave them a check, written to Bernie Vara, in an envelope at the maintenance shed or drop it off to Steve Gerard at 117 Brookbridge, and he'll make sure they get passed along. If the shed is locked, drop it in the mailbox. Many thanks - and Merry Christmas to all! Wally Zimmerman

No Overnight On-Street Parking in Village of Cary
December 1 to February 28
The Village of Cary's on-street parking restrictions began December 1st and will end February 28th. No on-street parking is allowed between the hours of 1:00am and 6:00am. Also, as a reminder,
it is unlawful to park any vehicle on any public street in the village at any time within 12 hours after a snowfall of three inches or more has occurred. Please do not park your car over Village sidewalks. Parking vehicles over Village sidewalks obstructs bike and pedestrian use of those sidewalks, thus, creating a potential hazard. Your cooperation is appreciated.
Holiday Food Drive
Help others in your community this holiday season with your donation of non-perishable food items and supplies. All donations will be brought to the Cary-Grove Food Pantry. There is a drop off bin in the Community Center. Monetary donations can also be sent to the Cary-Grove Food Pantry, allowing them to purchase what they need. Thank you for supporting your community!

Blast versus Newsletter?
We've recently had questions and requests for sending out email blasts to Trout Valley residents. These have included blasts for charitable donations and open houses. Most community information can be circulated in the weekly newsletter. The blasts are reserved for important and time-sensitive information. We want residents to know that when they receive a blast, they should read it as soon as they can, as it is something of concern for the community.
When we reject a blast request, we are trying to balance the need to communicate effectively and quickly with Trout Valley against the rights of the residents not to be overwhelmed with local messages. If we don't send out a lot of blasts, we hope those we do send get your attention. We appreciate your consideration.
Thanks, Bob Baker
