A Heartfelt Thank You
We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, kindness, support, and prayers from our Trout Valley/Cary friends and neighbors, as our 23 year old son battles an advanced stage of stomach cancer. Drew spent his childhood playing in the woods of Trout Valley and he now loves living and working as a jewelry artist in the wooded foothills of the Sierra Mountains in California.
Your support is helping him to seek out alternative medicines and treatments, as traditional medicine has had no treatment or clinical trials to offer for this type of cancer.
Drew has read and enjoyed every card and letter.
We are grateful for every moment we are spending as a family, together.
From the bottom of our hearts and with much gratitude,
Cliff, Vernie, Carly, and Andrew Vadnais

A Holiday Tradition
There is a long standing tradition of lighting luminaries along our streets on the night of December 24th. We will be continuing this tradition this year. Luminaries are sold at the barn during and following the annual Holiday Children's Party.
Dates: December 12, 7pm at the barn Packing the candles into bags - all valley residents are invited. It is always a fun event and a good way to meet your neighbors!
December 14 (during and after the party) Sale of candles as well as various Trout Valley items; such as the calendar and stationery.
We are also looking for kids who would like to earn a little cash of the the holidays. Some residents like to hire kids to set up their luminaries. If you are interested, please contact either Ann Somers - 847-639-1278 or Kristin Purtill - 847-639-1419.
Thank you!
SAVE THE DATE
December 14th - Holiday Children's Party at the barn. More details to follow.

Burning Leaves
Below is a link to the McHenry County open burning restrictions website. Please keep in mind that we have residents who suffer from asthma and respiratory conditions in our neighborhood. Everyone should be mindful of the smoke generated from leaf and landscape waste burning. It is preferable for our residents to dispose of their leaves in some other manner, but you must burn - please follow the county ordinance (which applies in Trout Valley). Violators can be fined.
Thank you

Blast versus Newsletter?
We've recently had questions and requests for sending out email blasts to Trout Valley residents. These have included blasts for charitable donations and open houses. Most community information can be circulated in the weekly newsletter. The blasts are reserved for important and time-sensitive information. We want residents to know that when they receive a blast, they should read it as soon as they can, as it is something of concern for the community.
When we reject a blast request, we are trying to balance the need to communicate effectively and quickly with Trout Valley against the rights of the residents not to be overwhelmed with local messages. If we don't send out a lot of blasts, we hope those we do send get your attention. We appreciate your consideration.
Thanks, Bob Baker
