TV Directory

A big thank you to Kim Kauss and Angela Nordgren for many, many hours of work getting the Trout Valley Directory ready to print.  Thank you to all of you who checked your entries for errors and sent in those corrections.  Thank you to all of you who took out an advertising spot.

Now that we have a weekly newsletter which includes easy links to the Trout Valley website, we are hoping to be able to continually update the directory information as changes arise.

Once the directories are printed, they will be mailed to each household.

Pool Plaque

What a wonderful celebration over this past weekend at the pool.  The historic plaque was installed on the pool and a new Redbud tree was planted!

The Redbud Tree is the 2nd in a series of trees that the Forestry Board is planting throughout the Valley.  We are naming this tree the "Dedication Tree" in honor of the Pool's Historic Landmark Plaque.  The first tree was the "Inspiration Tree" (red Oak), which was planted near the barn.  We chose the Redbud for it's size and it's beautiful blossoms before the tree produces leaves.

We are so fortunate to have this pool.  In my eyes, it's amazing that it has stood for 90 years.  Just imagine, the roaring 20's - John Hertz, his family, dignitaries, and movie stars swimming here.  Through the years, it has been a wonderful place for the Curtiss era and Trout Valley residents.  It is still going strong, even though it needs some repairs.  I'm sure it will stand for many years. It is truly an honor to see this pool with an Historic Landmark plaque and I'm proud to say that I had a small part in it happening.

Fourth of July Party
Save the Date!!

The date is July 3rd, which is a Wednesday late afternoon/ evening event.  It will be casual, fun, and BYOB.  There will be live entertainment by 'Expo 76', a great band featuring members of Poi Dog Pondering, and former members of Wilco ( who have appeared on Letterman and SNL!).

More information to follow--  I believe we will have some games for the kids and then the live music starts at 7 pm!

(This will not be connected to any Thursday, July 4th plans that may be taking place at the pool)

Thanks,
Michelle Greenwald, Heidi Peters, and Janette Warner

Neighbors In Need!
Bev and Warren Sweeney used to own a home in the Valley but sold it when they downsized. They missed living here and returned 3 years ago and have been renting a home. They recently received notice that they have to leave so repairs can be done to the home. The Sweeneys are in their 80's and they are worried as they can not find another home to rent. We are putting out a blast to help this local couple. Does anyone know of a home in Trout Valley or somewhere nearby that is available to rent? They need to be out in 30 days, so there is some urgency to this situation. We can vouch that they are wonderful people. Please respond if you have any information/contacts. Thank you!
