Swimming Pool News
Back by popular demand........"Adopt - Pot" at the pool. 1 Large Planter, 3 small planters, & 12 Square pots are available. Color scheme is Red, purples, oranges, & yellows. Contact Heidi Peters sunshinedaydream67@yahoo.com
to reserve your pot today.
'Adopt a pot' was established 5 years ago to save $$ for the pool budget. People sign up to plant flowers (they purchase on their own) in the planters that are available at the pool. Based on the color scheme indicated, any type of flower can be purchased and planted by the person who signs up for the pot(s). We like all the pots to be planted before opening day. Potting soil may also be needed for many of the pots, the square ones, for sure We keep the gate unlock for their convenience to plant. It's fun to see the different styles and flower selection.

SPRING REMINDER FROM
THE BUILDING COMMITTEE
You need to submit plans for approval if you want to add on to your house (room additions, garages, decks, patios, porches, bumped-out bay windows, new roof elevations, etc.) If you are changing an exterior material, or its color, e.g. paint, asphalt shingles, brick/stone, decking materials, you also need to get approval from the Trout Valley building Committee. If it is simply a replacement with the same color or material, you do NOT have to obtain permission. Permits required for interior projects, such as plumbing or electrical issues, can be obtained by your licensed contractor.
The procedure for submitting changes is as follows:
- Get the Building Committee checklist from the Trout Valley website, www.troutvalleycommunity.com
- Submit plans with check list to Chairman, Steve Kidder 847-462-2564. Per the checklist, include architectural drawings with proposed changes, all affected elevations, side lot lines, material finishes, $40 processing fee (non-refundable) and $1,000 performance bond fee (refundable) to the Chairman for review . It should take no more than 2 weeks.
- With a letter of approval from the Building Committee, you can obtain a building permit from McHenry County (815-334-4560), or the Village of Cary (847-639-0003), if you live within the Cary city limits.
- Upon satisfactory and timely completion of your project, notify the chairman, who will approve your $1,000 performance bond fee refund.
If you have any questions, please review the forms and building guidelines on the website, or call Steve Kidder at 847-462-2564 or Ann Somers at 847-639-1278.
