Trout Valley Directory

We are in the process of updating our information for the 2013 Trout Valley Directory.  We have created a very simple survey for all residents.  It contains 10 questions and you can let us know how you want your names to be printed, whether we can print your cell phones and emails, and whether you are the contact person for our various committees and clubs, etc.  Please take a few minutes to fill out this survey:

If you prefer to print and mail your copy of the survey, use this link:

Please complete this survey by the end of April.  We hope to print the directory shortly thereafter.

If you have questions, please contact Kim Kauss at kauss6@gmail.com or 847-323-7209

We really appreciate your willingness to participate!

Newcomers' Coffee

On May 5th, from 1:00 - 2:30 pm, there will be an open house at the barn for new residents of Trout Valley who have moved into the neighborhood in the past two years or so.
There will be representatives from the various boards, clubs, and amenities who will be available with information and will be willing to answer questions.

If you would like to be invited, or if you would like to represent your club or activity at the meeting, please RSVP to:
Troutvalleynews@gmail.com

or leave a voice mail for Vernie at 847-639-9142. We will be preparing welcome packets for the new residents who attend. Refreshments will be served.

Attention all residents:

If you have lived in Trout Valley for awhile, but are still wondering about one of our clubs or amenities, feel free to stop by and ask questions.  There will be forms available for joining the tennis club and the pool.  There will also be a sign up form for tennis lessons.

The Newcomers' Coffee is a great opportunity to learn about all that Trout Valley has to offer!

Fen and Nature Walk Clean Up

Clean the Fen Days will be held Saturday, May 4th and Sunday, May 5th  from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.

Please volunteer your time to benefit one of our most precious natural assets.

We will be removing the remaining buck thorns on the ridge area, dead trees, downed branches and light trail maintenance.

Please bring tools and wear protective clothing.

We will need sand and sand bags.

It would be helpful to have two or three people who will "take charge" of select activities on the work day.

If you have questions or you would like to volunteer to lead an activity on one of the days, contact Doug at dougpeters@mail.com.

Thank you,

Doug Peters

Wood Chipping

Chipping season is back.
The maintenance crew has begun chipping and wanted to remind residents of the rules.
All refuse must be brought to the street, no exceptions.
Branches must be 6" diameter or under.  Larger limbs must be cut to under 20" in length.
No stumps. No loose leaves or grindings.
In addition, the crew will NOT remove large piles assembled by professional tree services or landscapers.

If you are having a tree removed, don't leave the chipping for us.

There are wipe-off boards with information about upcoming chipping days on the street corners near the barn.

Thanks for your cooperation,
Steve Gerard

Security

An estate sale was held on 127 Turkey Hill road.  With the help of Todd Somers, ECHO security was on hand during the sale.  I am not aware of any issues.  Due to the unique nature of our community, one way roads, cul-de-sacs, etc...   it is appreciated if the board is informed well before such events so that we can make proper security arrangements.

Please take care to obey stop signs.

Rob Price

A Word about TV Email Blasts

Now that we have a weekly newsletter, email blasts will be used less frequently.   If you have a submission, please submit it to Bob Baker at troutvalleyblasts@gmail.com.

Email blasts are to be used for items that are time-sensitive or important news - lost pets, death of a resident, extreme weather conditions, etc.  Please note that we do not want to abuse the use of email blasts for regular items, as we want residents to realize that when they receive an blast, it is for an important purpose.  The email blasts are not a substitute, but rather a complement to the newsletter .
We will review all email blast requests and if we feel they meet the criteria, we will send out an email blast within a reasonable time period.  If it is determined that the information does not merit an email blast, we will make sure it appears in the next newsletter.
