FLORIDA HOUSE TO HOST FREE ENERGY UPGRADE WORKSHOP
Learn how to save energy and receive a cool DIY Kit
The Florida House Institute will be hosting one of Sarasota County's free Energy Upgrade Workshops on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 6:30 p.m. at 4454 Beneva Road.
These workshops are for neighborhood associations, community groups, volunteer associations, faith groups or others who are interested in learning more about how to save energy and water in their homes. The 30-minute workshop discusses cost-saving strategies for residents ranging from no-cost solutions to those that require some investment like replacing an air conditioning system. The workshop also discusses considerations in selecting contractors, do-it-yourself opportunities and possible incentives that might be available.
Attendees will receive a free Do It Yourself Energy Saving Kit worth up to $30 that includes compact fluorescent light bulbs, faucet aerators, a smart power strip, rope caulk and outlet insulating gaskets.
