Year End Update from the Friends by Beth Holden, FEPL Beth Holden President

During fiscal 2015 the Friends contributions to the Library totaled over $48,000. These funds were raised by our annual  membership drive, other contributions including memorial gifts, revenue from our book sale, grants and other fundraisers, like our popular summer raffle.
The Friends like to say we provide the "icing on the cake," making available things that are above and beyond the library's capability. One such icing was the renovation of the staff office at the library - much deserved, and appreciated, by our wonderful staff at Eldredge Library.
Another upgrade at the library will be the installation of a new AV system in the Forgeron Room. Thanks to the funds donated by friends and family of Jeanette and Lin Pease, the new system should be in place by the start of the fall learning series.
The results of our Chatham by the Sea Summer Raffle will give a big boost to enable the Friends to continue our 36 year commitment to the library.

In Memory of Holly Whiting Holly Whiting

The Eldredge Public Library has lost a good Friend.  We are saddened to report the passing of Holly Whiting, long time member of the Friends' Board, and Editor of Tidings for many years.
Holly was the recipient of the Friends' Esprit Award in 2010.  This quotation from her presentation says it all.
"As Editor of Tidings, her contribution to the Friends is invaluable.  She exemplifies the true spirit and dedication of a Friend.  In addition, she has been an ardent, driving force for the popular annual "Chatham Reads Poetry" program."
Thank you Holly, for being our Friend.  We remember your warmth and good cheer, and your many contributions to the Library. We will miss you.
