Welcome to the first issue of the eNewsletter dedicated to serving and informing the hundreds of current and former employees of and within the Diocese of Delaware.

The launch of this eNewsletter is timed to assist all of you in navigating through the familiar, open enrollments, and the unfamiliar, the Affordable Care Act and the Denominational Health Plan.

Open Enrollment Time Again!
Eligible Active Employees

The Medical Trust has set the following dates Phase I of Open Enrollment from October 9 - 30 for all eligible active employees.  This is the time to not only enroll, but to make changes to addresses, dependents, phone numbers and email addresses.  Look for your letter from my office in mid-September.

Eligible Retired Employees

Open Enrollment for eligible retired employees will be during November and December.  Additional details will follow shortly.
The Affordable Care Act and You
Implementation of some provisions of the Act become effective by October 1, 2013.
On or before October 1, 2013, all current employees, anyone that will receive a W-2 at the end of 2013, must receive notice from their employer that includes the following information:
  • The existence of the public health plans that can be purchased within the public Marketplace
  • A description of the services provided in the Marketplace
  • Information on Premium Tax Credits for qualified individuals
  • Information of the current 2013 Diocese of Delaware Health Plans
  • Information on the 2014 Diocese of Delaware Health Plans, if known during the writing of the notice.
The Medical Trust and the Diocese of Delaware has provided each diocesan employer with notices that have been modified for Episcopal employee/er purposes.   Click Here to visit The Medical Trust website to get more information.
